Microsoft has teased the first look at screenshot functionality on Xbox One.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer shared a screengrab of the feature on Twitter earlier this evening, with the UI suggesting that players will be able to take screenshots of Xbox One games by double-tapping the Xbox button on their controller and pressing Y.

The option to take screenshots has been requested by the community since the console’s launch in 2013, with Spencer confirming last month that the functionality would be coming “early this year”.

Today’s tease suggests the feature could well arrive in next month’s system update.

Xbox One’s latest firmware update rolled out earlier today, introducing Game Hubs, transparent tiles and improvements to party chat.
