Many were concerned what Microsoft would do with Minecraft following its acquisition of the game back in November 2014, but it appears the tech giant has managed to keep the ball rolling rather nicely.

New sales figures put the game at 122 million copies, with a staggering 55 million monthly active users. Back in June 2016 the game had sold just short of 107 million copies.

Much of the game’s continued success is thanks to Microsoft’s decision to keep supporting the title on all formats, even if those are direct rivals to the Xbox One.
