Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta will soon receive a hefty update which brings them more in line with the console and PC versions, Microsoft has announced.
Update 0.12.1 will allow up to five people to play cross-platform multiplayer on a local network for the first time between Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, which is pretty cool.

Pocket Edition updates also include:
- Revamped touch controls
- Controller support, and the controller mapping screen
- The same enhanced weather effects that Windows 10 Edition Beta players have received, including snow accumulation and directional rain.
