The 30 games which are included with the Mini NES are your lot, with the device not having the ability to support additional games, Nintendo has told Kotaku.
This is because the micro console is a standalone device with no ability to connect to the internet or access external storage.
“The console is a standalone device, so it cannot connect to the internet or any external storage devices,” explained Nintendo. “The game line-up was chosen to provide a diverse mix of popular and recognisable NES games that appeal to a wide variety of players. Everyone should be able to find multiple games to enjoy.”
Nintendo also clarified that the “Chamber Lid does not open” and therefore cannot play original NES game cartridges.
As for plans to release Mini SNES or Mini N64 systems in the future, Nintendo said it has “nothing to announce at this time”.
The Mini NES will go on sale November 11 priced £49.99.
