Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has responded to claims that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has sold poorly, stating first week sales beat that of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
“Yes, PC is the smallest percentage in terms of how much sold on each platform but that hardly means anything other than the PC is just the smallest market,” wrote Bowling on the game’s forums
He added: “The PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in its first week. Making it the most successful PC version.”
He concluded: “The PC version has done tremendous in its first week, better than our previous game.”
So, despite the outcry from fans over the lack of dedicated servers, Modern Warfare 2 is the most successful Call of Duty game on PC.
