During Final Kombat 2020, Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios unveiled the official Spawn gameplay trailer. It revealed Spawn’s combat style, several basic movies, a brutality, and a characteristically gruesome fatality, but it also showcased several other inclusions releasing alongside Spawn on March 17 (early access) or March 24 (full release).

One inclusion is the Matinee Skin pack, which includes the “Osh Tekk Vandal” Kotal Kahn skin, “Swashbuckler” Erron Black, and “Space Marine” Jacqui Briggs costumes, but it doesn’t end there for Briggs, at least. Fitting the variety of skins introduced with every Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character, Jacqui Briggs gets her own Hellspawn skin.

It’s not simple an “inspired” skin, either. This skin in effectively turns Jacqui Briggs into Spawn herself, with a design not unfamiliar with Spawn’s character in MK11. The iconic black and white design backed with a solid red cap and various chains transforms the character, which fans will be able to get their hands on at the same time as Spawn himself. Kombat Pack owners will have access to the skin via early access, with the full release just a week later for those who wish to pick it up a la carte.

Spawn’s gameplay trailer shows off a truly impressive and gruesome force, and so it’ll be interesting to see Jacqui in action with a similar appearance. After all, one of Jacqui’s Mortal Kombat 11 variations is obscenely broken and needs to be nerfed, but while waiting on that, it’s fitting that her OP variation could be paired with a skin shared with a truly powerful character.

At the moment, little more has been revealed concerning Spawn’s release in Mortal Kombat 11 and what comes after, but given the short time frame between now and even full release, fans can expect to learn more about Spawn and perhaps even the future of the game in the coming weeks. The reception around Spawn’s reveal shows the character is worth the wait, and hopefully, it doesn’t end there.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One. Spawn releases in early access on March 17 and full release on March 24.
