NBA 2K20 may not be people’s favorite game - or even anywhere near the list - but in the light of the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, it has become a way to bring people together. When starting up the game, you will now see a photo of Bryant in black and white, with the years 1978-2020 underneath - added by 2K Sports.

The same image is also presented as a billboard in NBA 2K20’s The Neighborhood hub world. As of right now, there is no information whether this will be the only way the game is commemorating the basketball star. However, fans of the game and the player alike have come together to pay tribute to him. They have been purposely taking 24-second shot clock violations and 8-second half court violations in honor of the two numbers that Bryant wore throughout his career - which is also something NBA players across the league have done immediately after the news broke. The game’s open world feature also made for a sea of players dressed in purple and gold, even though there is currently no Kobe Bryant jersey available for created players in the game.
