Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones (Ser Loras Tyrell, brother to Natalie Dormer’s Margaery) has been cast as the lead in Netflix and Marvel’s Iron Fist series, reports Variety.
Jones will star as Daniel “Danny” Rand, who returns to New York City after being missing for years to fight criminals. Danny has the advantage of being able to use Kung-Fu and the ability to summon the power of the Iron Fist.
“Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet,” said Marvel’s head of TV, Jeph Loeb, who will also serve as an exec producer on the series with Buck. “We always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we’ve found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of ‘The Defenders.’”
Iron Fist will eventually join up with Marvel’s other “street-level” heroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage to form The Defenders in a Netflix miniseries.
