Netflix’s Dragon’s Dogma anime is coming to the streaming service in September, from studio Sublimation, Inc.

In the game, the Arisen—a customisable hero—loses their heart to the Dragon, named Grigori. The world of Gransys is under threat from Grigori, and the Arisen embarks on a quest to take back their heart, avert the apocalypse, and reveal an ancient conspiracy. All in a day’s work, if you ask me.

Sublimation Inc. cut its teeth on the anime Walking Meat, and has credits on Gatchaman CROWDS, 009 Re: Cyborg, God Eater, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These. Announced last year, the animated adaptation of Dragon’s Dogma appears to be following the premise of the game closely. “Ethan sets out to vanquish the Dragon that took his heart, but with every demon he battles, the more he loses his humanity,” reads the description.

Only the Arisen can face the Dragon and defeat the apocalypse. Here’s your first look at the anime series adaptation of Capcom’s action fantasy classic Dragon’s Dogma, arriving September 17th. pic.twitter.com/UxJMcUrsdp
