Bungie is attending PAX West in a big way, bringing a new build of Destiny 2 that includes the Shadowkeep 3v3 Elimination game mode. It also brought a few Shadowkeep-related details that it didn’t intend to. PAX West attendees have been able to report back about previously unannounced information they gleaned from looking around the Destiny 2 PAX West build. Several new exotics have been revealed, for example. And most recently, three new Shadowkeep titles have been found.
Titles in Destiny 2 are earned through impressive achievements and the new titles live up to those expectations. According to several images cited to “PG Tips on Twitter” three new titles will be available in Shadowkeep. The first title will be “Undying” and will be earned by completing 14 unique Triumphs tied to the Season of the Undying. “Harbinger” is earned by completing 10 unique Triumphs associated with the Shadowkeep expansion. And the third title is “Enlightened” and is earned by completing 16 Triumphs associated with the new Garden of Salvation raid in Shadowkeep.
Speculation is already kicking off regarding the second and third titles. The first, Undying, stems from the name of Shadowkeep’s first Season, Season of the Undying. The second, Harbinger, is believed to be related to Shadowkeep’s story potentially serving as a precursor to an invasion by a new race. The Veil race is rumored but unconfirmed, and Harbinger only adds to the speculation. Enlightened is the most mysterious of the titles. What will Guardians discover in the Garden of Salvation that will enlighten them?
There is one hint regarding the Enlightened title worth pointing out. Bungie has confirmed that the season to follow the Season of the Undying is named Season of Dawn. To enlighten is to shed light upon, not unlike the dawn if taken literally. There’s clearly much more going on in Destiny 2’s story that deserves attention, but is difficult to speculate upon.
Whether it’s new Exotics or upcoming titles, every bit of information leaked about Destiny 2’s Shadowkeep expansion hints at very exciting things. Bungie promised big changes in Shadowkeep and so far anticipation for the expansion shows fans can’t wait. If fans are excited for this trickle of new information coming out of PAX West, the excitement is certain to climb going into this final month before Shadowkeep’s launch.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Shadowkeep releases October 1.
