New Star Trek Series Is Called Discovery As Is The Show S Main Ship

The new CBS Star Trek series is titled Star Trek Discovery after the show’s newly-revealed main ship, the USS Discovery (NCC-1031), executive producer Bryan Fuller announced at a Comic-Con panel this weekend.

“There are so many reasons why we settled on Discovery,” Fuller explained. “But the chief one amongst them was that I couldn’t think of a more Star Trek-themed name for a ship than Discovery.”

Star Trek Discovery will be available on Netflix in 188 countries in January, following its US premiere on the CBS Television Network.
