Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has sought to assure fans that the company will deliver better showings going forward after a disappointing Digital Event.

Following feedback from Nintendo’s lacklustre Digital Event, Iwata issued this tweet:

[岩田]深夜まで、ご覧いただきありがとうございました。今年のDigital Eventに対する様々なご意見を真摯に受け止め、今後、より多くのみなさまのご期待にお応えできるように努めていきたいと思います。#Iwatter

The tweet was translated by @Cheesemeister:

.@Nintendo Thank you for watching. We take opinions of this year’s Digital Event seriously and will work to better meet your expectations.

With Nintendo stating they’ll debut their next console, codenamed NX, in 2016, it seems they have an awful lot of ground to make up with both fans and their rivals.
