No Man’s Sky has become Sony’s second biggest PS4 launch – only bettered by Uncharted 4 – and the platform holder’s biggest launch for a new IP on PS4, reports ChartTrack.
Hello Games’ ambitious space exploration game ranks fifth in terms of new IP across all publishers and Sony formats behind Destiny (PS4), Watch Dogs (PS4), The Getaway (PS2) and The Last of Us (PS3).
Hello Games founder Sean Murray described the game’s PC launch as “insane”, with SteamSpy estimating sales have already reached half a million.
GTA 5 is kicked down a space into second, with the rest of the chart treading water. That is besides Mario & Sonic: Rio 2016 Olympic Games which climbs eight places to 15th.
