Open-world dog RPG Home Free has reached its Kickstarter funding goal of $50,000 after only five days.

“What did you do today?” reads an update on the game’s Kickstarter.

“Well, I woke up, looked at my phone, jumped out of bed, and put virtual party hats on a couple dozen digital dogs.”

“Because we hit our goal!”

In Home Free you are a dog lost in a sprawling and unfamiliar city. You wander the streets, searching for scraps, for shelter, for a friendly face.

The update continued: “Thanks to you, I get to spend the next year bringing to life my dream for the game I’ve always wanted to play. I get to spend my days doing the thing I love (making games) while looking at pictures of dogs, thinking about dogs, and making pretend dogs do pretend dog things on my computer screen. I hope I don’t get tired of it.”

The game has a projected release date of autumn 2016.
