Orcs Must Die! 3 just got announced at Gamescom as a Google Stadia exclusive title.

It’s been a while since we heard from Orcs Must Die!, the tower defense franchise that seemed to define the genre after its first release back in 2011. The first game arrived on Xbox Live and Windows PC to rave reviews and quickly spawned a sequel that came out in 2012. Then developers Robot Entertainment took the genre online to Orcs Must Die! Unchained in 2017 where things didn’t go quite as well as the first two titles.

Earlier this year, the devs announced that Unchained’s multiplayer servers would shut down in April due to poor financial performance. They were nice enough to give players a ton of in-game cash before the servers shut down, so there’s that at least.

But the core element of the game–that being killing hordes of ugly orcs using ever more ludicrous traps and arcade weaponry–remains a great way to kill some time. So, the time is right for Orcs Must Die! 3.

From the announcement trailer, it looks like OMD3 is basically going to be more of the same, only bigger and better. There will be new traps to lay waste to hundreds of orcs and new weapons for you to personally brutalized these poor, unsuspecting greenskins.

Most notable are the mega flip traps, which catapult dozens of orcs to their eventual doom, and the mega boom barrel launcher, which is a catapult that launches arcade explosives onto orcish formations.

Along with the new single-player campaign, there will also be a new War Scenarios game mode that will pit teams of players against the largest hordes of orcs ever seen. And mountable war machines will make getting around those big maps far easier.

The only bad news is that Orcs Must Die! 3 Is going to be a Google Stadia exclusive title when it eventually releases in Spring of 2020. We don’t know what’s with this new era of exclusives, but we don’t like it, no sir.
