Netflix has decided to cancel one of its most intriguing new shows, the period mystery-science fiction series 1899. Co-creator Baran bo Odar shared the news on Jan. 2, 2022, via Instagram: 1899 told the story of a group of European emigrants traveling from Southampton to New York City on a steamship named Kerberos. During the first episode, they change course as they find an abandoned ship, the Prometheus. Things only get weirder from there....

Today Kojima Productions updated its website revealing another actress who will appear in the next game by Hideo Kojima. The actress revealed today was teased with a silhouette a few weeks ago alongside the reveal of Elle Fanning, and she’s Shioli Kutsuna. You may know her for her roles in the recent Apple TV+ series Invasion and in Deadpool 2, and interestingly, she also voiced Lunafreya Nox Fleuret in the Japanese voice track of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (but not in the game)....

Blizzard has announced new details about an upcoming control map for Overwatch which will be set in South Korea. The announcement happened during Blizzard’s 2018 Gamescom conference, along with the broadcast of the long-awaited D.Va animated short, called “Shooting Star”, which shows her protecting her homeland from an attack by flying droids. Set to release in November of this year, EA and Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order may be the first truly unique story-driven Star Wars gaming experience since the publisher acquired the license in 2013. Video game movies – they’re pretty bad, right? At least, that was the prevailing opinion until the past year or so. We’ve finally gotten a steady trickle of decent video game adaptations over the past few years, with movies like Detective Pikachu and Tomb Raider proving that “video game tie-in” and “absolute unmitigated disaster” don’t have to be synonymous. While I’d be remiss to put NiNoKuni in the same league as either of those movies, it’s nevertheless a decent enough adventure that feels like a faithful adaptation of the franchise....

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is home to a secret. No, it doesn’t unlock a secret second GPU on the Switch, but it does house a message for the gamers. Even with the Switch and the Switch Lite touting their portability and convenience, the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles are not completely dead yet. Team17 revealed the Overcooked 2 Gourmet Edition, which bundles all of the game’s DLC with the base game in one tasty parcel (via Nintendo Life). This includes Surf ‘n’ Turf, Campfire Cook Off, Night of the Hangry Horde, and Carnival of Chaos, which totals 58 chefs, 26 recipes, and 130 kitchens. Phew. Players will need to be as cool as a cucumber if they are to complete the stages in mint condition, or their cakes will be in tiers....

Minecraft’s long-awaited The Wild Update - which includes two new biomes, new mobs, and various other delights - finally has a release date, and will be launching on 7th June.
