Sony has polished off a new Days Gone trailer, showing off a slightly more human side to the upcoming Freaker-mashing open-world title. The trailer sees motorbike-loving hero Deacon St. John travelling back to the church where he tied the knot with Sarah Whitaker, only get into a ruck with some fellow apocalypse survivors. We then jump around between the past and present, as Deacon’s mind starts to drift back to a time when the US wasn’t populated by flesh-eating nutters....

The battles in FFXIV Online and Monster Hunter: World are notorious for their difficulty and length. It’s only fitting that Final Fantasy XIV Online brings some of those epic fights to its realm. The newest patch for Final Fantasy XIV Online (4.36) adds “The New King of the Block” quest. Here you can jump into “The Great Hunt” trial and face the Rathalos. If you’ve completed the Stormblood expansion you can immediately start the hunt....

A new trailer for the bizarre Pokémon-esque Palworld has been released, showing more of its gun battles against cute creatures. Japanese studio Pocketpair is responsible for the multiplayer, open-world survival crafting game that sees Pals farming, working in factories, and being shot at. The latest trailer, see below, shows the player and Pals double-teaming against enemy creatures. The vibrant open world looks stunning, with Pals being collected in coloured balls and put to work building structures....

The 2019 season of the Overwatch League is in the books. The San Francisco Shock took home the Grand Finals trophy after a dominating 4-0 win over the Vancouver Titans. With the strongest roster in the game, the Shock are looking good heading into the 2020 season. For other teams, roster shake-ups are imminent and the Overwatch League off-season already has teams making roster moves. This includes the New York Excelsior releasing first year player, Yeon-oh “Fl0w3R” Hwang from the squad....

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate French Championship has recently released its official set of rules. In a surprising move, OnLive today announced the availabilty of an app for Apple’s iPad. Dubbed the OnLive Viewer, the free application allows users to spectate games being played on the OnLive service. A version of the app for the Android operating system is currently in beta, and was demonstrated on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. This may not be the full game-playing version of the service iPad owners are likely hoping for, but it is a start, and more is planned for the app in the future....

The report which questioned 2,500 mobile users was carried out in five countries: USA, UK, Italy, Spain and Germany. The most astonishing finding is that only 5 percent of those surveyed had downloaded a game onto their handset. Overwatch’s Halloween event is once again in full swing, with the return of the Junkenstein’s Revenge mode and new seasonal cosmetics to collect. While Blizzard does seem to be losing favor with players over recent decisions made, the Overwatch Halloween Terror event is apparently going strong. Although the majority of Overwatch Halloween skins and cosmetics are unlocked either by loot box luck or direct in-game purchase, Blizzard is allowing players to earn three sets of cosmetics on their own....

Nintendo has released a major new update for mobile app Miitomo, introducing a range of new features designed to give players “even more ways… to express themselves”. One of the big new features is private messages, which allows players to send direct messages to other people on their friends list. There’s a new timeline, too, which lets you easily glance at all your friends’ answers, and a new Answer Central hub that lets you browse and comment on other people’s answers....

ModNation Racers is, quite simply, the LittleBigPlanet of kart racers. Part of Sony’s PLAY, CREATE, SHARE line of games, it’s coming to both the PS3 and PSP. I recently had the chance to play a demo of the PSP version of the game. Packing two Action Races, Flaming Jumps and Lost Temple, as well as a scaled-back version of the Track Studio course design mode, the demo should keep players busy until the full game comes out....

More new skins are coming to Mortal Kombat 11 today. A new bundle for the popular blood-based fighter Skarlet has just gone live on the Mortal Kombat 11 Premium Shop. The Skarlet Bundle features two new skins for the fighter, though the two are identical beyond color variations. It also includes a new Victory outro animation and three pieces of gear, a mask, a dagger, and a blood vial. This Mortal Kombat 11 Skarlet bundle is available now on PS4 and Xbox One for 1855 Time Krystals and should go live on PC and Nintendo Switch soon....

Using an MS Points code generator, a great many gamers were able to make away with some serious Xbox Live cash.
