Nintendo’s latest home console, it’s hard to deny the impact the Nintendo Switch has had for the company’s reputation. After the downward trend of the Wii U, the Switch saved Nintendo and put them back in the forefront of the industry. They have the most interesting tech, they have the most interesting games, and they cater to the strengths of the medium more than either Sony of Microsoft. But that doesn’t necessarily guarantee good games....

This year has seen more triple-A titles delayed into the next year than any other year in recent memory. Crysis 2, SOCOM 4, Portal 2, F.E.A.R. 3, and others have seen their late 2010 release dates moved to early 2011. Unfortunately, you can now add LittleBigPlanet 2 to that list. Media Molecule, the developers of LittleBigPlanet, announced on their website that the game is going to be pushed from the planned November 16th release to sometime in January 2011....

Following the more esoteric but still pointed concerns of his last two films, Clouds of Sils Maria and Personal Shopper, French auteur Olivier Assayas heads into surprisingly straightforward territory with Non-Fiction. The director takes an almost traditional approach in following the lives of two couples–a high-end book editor named Alain (Guillaume Canet) and his actress wife Selena (Juliette Binoche), along with novelist Leonard (Vincent Macaigne) and his political consultant partner Valerie (Nora Hamzawi)–as their lives entwine around each other both professionally and romantically....

OG Esports have signed a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, the famed Dota 2 organization announced today. This announcement came months after rumors of their plans to pick up a team in the game began to circulate. The roster includes many recognizable names, including former ENCE in-game leader Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and two-time CS:GO Major winner Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt. Initial reports were released in October of this year, outlining OG’s plans to sign a CS:GO team in the near future....

Deadman mode returns to Old School RuneScape for its third season. Now titled Deadman Reborn, the latest version of the popular Old School RuneScape PvP game mode reworks several aspects. This rework has been done in an attempt to fix the primary issues raised by the community during Season 2. For those not in the know, Deadman Mode is a PvP tournament that takes place over three weeks. Throughout the event, players receive greatly enhanced experience and rare drop rates from bosses....

Cuphead, the visually striking action platformer designed to look like a 1930s cartoon, will no longer release in 2016, developer Studio MDHR has announced. The delay is the result of simply needing more time to complete the title as the studio originally set out. “Hey everyone, we wanted to finish our game 80 years after 1936 but it will now be 81,” wrote MDRH on its blog. “Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact....

Members of the original development team behind the legendary GoldenEye 007 for N64 have shared their thoughts on the recent re-releases of the game for Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Responding to a tweet by Rare, the game’s original developer, game designer David Doak questioned where the love was for “the team who actually made it”. “Obviously marvellous to see GoldenEye 007 re-released and I hope people have a lot of fun with it!...

Outer Worlds: Murder On Eridanos is the new sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division. The game acts as a sequel to the hit game with the same title. The game has an eerie yet colourful vibe to it all which is pretty tough to pull off. It comes with various side quests such as a choice between whether you should clean or ruin the pool. Most of the quests in the game are of this type and influence the outcome of the game....

Overkill’s The Walking Dead game has been delayed to the second half of 2017, Starbreeze has announced. The game had previously been due to arrive later this year. The delay will help “cement [the game] as a tent pole product for the next decade to come”, Starbreeze says, and help the company “pave the way to success”. An Asian version is also being prepared for a simultaneous launch with the western release following a $40m investment from Korean game company Smilegate in Starbreeze....

Finally, over a month after its PC launch, Capcom has patched Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to fix a game-breaking bug affecting players using DirectX 12. The glitch has caused numerous performance issues, including serious crashes. While not everyone has experienced such issues, it’s been a problem for enough players that Capcom had to address it with a dedicated patch. The patch doesn’t add any new content to the game. Rather, it is designed to fix performance issues for some players....

Although Sony and Microsoft have not fully revealed their next-gen consoles, it is widely believed that many development studios are already crafting gaming experiences for both platforms. Some of those games will launch alongside the console, like Gearbox Software’s Godfall, and others will be available later down the line. But fans may still be wondering how many developers are actively working on PS5 and Xbox Series X games and it seems that close to one quarter have PS5 projects in development....

For a story that revolves around giant motorized cities, flying airships, and steampunk cyborgs, Mortal Engines is puzzlingly forgettable. As the latest project from Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson, Mortal Engines has had a troubled genesis. Adapted from a somewhat unknown young adult novel by Philip Reeve, the film has been in development for almost a decade after Jackson had to shelve the project in order to work on The Hobbit and its sequels....

The upcoming puzzle game Murder by Numbers was first revealed last October, but an official release date was never disclosed. Originally just announced for “early 2020,” Murder by Numbers has now been confirmed to release next month. You’ll be able to buy and play it on Steam for $14.99 come March 6, though it will reportedly be 10% off during its launch week. While a little unusual at first glance, Murder by Numbers looks to be an interesting take on the format established by Picross....
