Today brings another new Pokémon set to debut in the upcoming Scarlet and Violet games for Nintendo Switch: Bellibolt, an electric-type frog. A couple of days ago, a teaser was released where Iono, a new gym leader character described as an influencer and livestreamer within the Pokémon universe, asked viewers to guess what her partner Pokémon was. We were given the following clues: appearance-wise it’s squishy, sluggish with an easygoing vibe, and has “two big ol’ bumps on its noggin that people always mistake for eyes”....

It has been nearly 10 years since there has been a full-blown Prince of Persia game for consoles, and while Prince of Persia: Escape, a mobile runner game that released in 2018, does exist, some fans may be left wanting more from this classic franchise. Fortunately for these players, there is indeed a new Prince of Persia game on the way from Ubisoft, however it is probably not exactly what they had in mind....

Following in the footsteps of past Bethesda titles set in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout, Fallout: New Vegas will be continuing the trend. Bethesda has previously announced three new DLC packs that promise more adventure in the West Coast Wasteland, now they have descriptions. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa revealed via a recent Q&A session that he’s not too worried about the upcoming releases of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. “We will explain the specific figures for the next fiscal year in our next fiscal year announcement, but I think there will certainly be a change in the environment as new products of our competitors appear,” Furukawa says. While that certainly suggests that Nintendo is bracing for war, Furukawa also seems to suggest that Nintendo thinks the Switch appeals to a more specific market and different purposes....

Nintendo has quietly tightened up its policies regarding the release of adult games on Switch, a publisher has said. In a recent Twitter thread (thanks, Nintendo Everything), adult game publisher Gamuzumi told fans it had heard back from Nintendo after facing an unexpected delay in the launch of its most recent title, Hot Tentacles Shooter. According to Gamuzumi, which describes itself as a “boutique publisher focused on releasing mature or ’ecchi’ [softcore hentai] titles”, Nintendo has now ruled that games featuring topless anime women are no longer allowed....

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has said that the company’s transition to its next console is “a major concern for us.” Furukawa took part in an investor Q&A this week (as translated by VGC), and talk about future challenges. “Unlike the past, we continue to have a large variety of games scheduled to be released,” Furokawa said. “This is because the Nintendo Switch has had such a smooth launch, allowing us to focus all of our development resources on a single platform....

No Man’s Sky has caused some heated debate since the game launched and now a moderator on Reddit has decided enough is enough. It’s not often you see a Reddit channel shut down because once it’s setup, the channel is effectively owned by the community and run by moderators. A note from the moderator R0ugeW0lf on the channel explained why it’s was pulled. Since this post went up, the channel has been re-opened but the community is frustrated and angry over the actions taken by R0ugeW0lf and the other moderators who agreed to the closure....

WWE is worried about All Elite Wrestling. If nothing else, that was proved last night when WWE ran its annual Survivor Series show in Chicago. AEW debuted last month on TNT and WWE, upon hearing the announcement, would move NXT to the USA Network a short time later, programming the show head-to-head against AEW’s Dynamite program. Last night at Survivor Series, WWE matched up RAW, SmackDown and NXT talent against each other....

Oculus took a step closer to realising a full body VR experience with the acquisition of Pebbles Interfaces, one of the leading teams in depth sensing technology and computer vision. The Israel-based technology firm has spent five years developing technology that uses custom optics, sensor systems and algorithms to detect and track hand movement. As the technology advances Pebbles aims to revolutionise the way people communicate in virtual worlds. “At Pebbles Interfaces, we’ve been focused on pushing the limits of digital sensing technology to accelerate the future of human-computer interaction,” commented Nadav Grossinger, CTO of Pebbles Interfaces....

Microsoft has announced the latest batch of games heading to the Xbox Games Pass service later this month, including some of the [email protected] titles it announced as heading for the service last week. As per the post on Xbox Wire, July 4 will see Middle Earth: Shadow of War added, alongside life sim My Time At Portia and Toby Fox’s ace Undertale. The first two will be available on both console and PC versions of the Xbox Game Pass, with the latter just on PC....
