Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will reportedly be getting campaign DLC as well as a map pack in late 2023, according to new leaks. According to the TheGhostofHope, Treyarch have also had their their budgets approved for a 2 year lifecycle on their next Call of Duty instalment. This seems to imply that the series could be going for a two year cycle going forward, and not just with this year’s entry as previously rumoured....

NBA 2K20 released earlier this week and was immediately slammed with review bombing from the audience community. Official reviews are still slowly trickling in, but so far seem to be split on whether the new installment in the basketball franchise has anything fresh to bring to the table. Regardless of what the NBA 2K20 reviews say, there are still plenty of 2K Sports fans who are planning to tear through the game in the coming weeks and make it a regular player in their rotation or the coming year....

If you have read our look at the NBA Elite 11 demo you would know that we weren’t too pleased with it. Many of the game’s animations looked largely inauthentic, forcing gamers to hope that the recently released demo was merely a first pass at the game and that the final product was not being accurately represented. Unfortunately, it looks like EA Sports might not have been pleased with the response they were receiving and have decided to delay NBA Elite 11 until some time next year....

Netflix has stopped filming the second season of The Witcher for two weeks, owing to the spread of coronavirus in the United Kingdom (via Deadline). The postponement is “effective immediately,” and the production crew will continue to be paid for those two weeks. A representative told Deadline that this will “allow everyone the time to make informed decisions about how to move forward,” especially as reports indicate that the outbreak will get worse before it gets better....

Last month, prominent Soulsborne dataminer Lance McDonald offered Elden Ring fans an intriguing peek behind the Lands Between’s conspicuosly sealed colosseum doors, and now, a fresh delve inside has revealed more of what developer FromSoftware may have had planned for the currently dormant structures during development. Elden Ring players will no doubt be familiar with the gargantuan colosseums that lie at three points on the map - one just beyond Stormveil Bridge, another jutting out from Caelid’s coastline, and a third set high above Leyndell, Royal Capital....

The Tokyo Game Show is this week, and we’ve seen trailers and reveals from tons of developers over the last few days. By the time you’re reading this, TGS will have opened to the public for people to try some demos and check out the insane booths that are scattered around the convention. Resident Evil Revelations 2’s producer Michiteru Okabe has said that he’s confident the next major Resident Evil game will “blow our minds” – despite claiming to know absolutely nothing about it. “Unfortunately we work on Revelations and that’s kind of it,” Okabe told VideoGamer.com earlier this week while discussing the future of Resident Evil. “We don’t really have a window into whatever else is going on. That would be a separate team and whatever that team is doing we’re confident that those guys are going to do something that’s going to blow our minds....

The villain is often the most interesting aspect of a story. It’s typically the villain who forces the protagonist to face his/her fears and save the day. There have been many iconic video game villains from throughout the years, from Dr. Wily to Flowey the flower. Nintendo is no stranger to colorful villains in its games. Coming up at the end of this month is Luigi’s Mansion 3, which pits Luigi against the terrifying King Boo once again....

According to The Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki, Nintendo has an unannounced Switch title up its sleeves that fans will apparently be ‘delighted’ to hear about. There’s not much else to go on right now, other than the game will be released in FY2019, which means April and onwards. I’d like to think we’re getting a new F-Zero game, as the series hasn’t really done much since the GameCube days. Then again, a new Star Fox title would be brilliant, too, although the Big N has plenty of IP gathering dust....

A developer from the original Grand Theft Auto game has reportedly had prototype videos hit with a copyright strike from Rockstar Games. Mike Dailly, one of the founders of DMA Design (now Rockstar North), has tweeted he’s removed any GTA videos due to the strikes. “I see Rockstar are going full fuckers mode again, issuing copyright strikes to any GTA video they can find - including both my prototype videos. So now they’re trying to block all release of anyone’s work on a game - and any old development footage,” he tweeted yesterday....

Eigo Kasahara, who worked as the planning director on the original Shenmue game on Dreamcast, recently told IGN Japan during Tokyo Game Show that he’s not happy with the current state of Shenmue I & II. ‘There were just way too many issues,’ he said on the abundance of bugs the recent re-release has been plagued with. ‘As a developer on the original games, the last thing I wanted for the re-release [of Shenmue I & II] is for them to be worse than the originals....

The Last of Us is getting a TV series adaptation, and while it might’ve had its fair share of detractors, it’s actually starting to look like it might be good. HBO put out a quick sizzle reel for all the upcoming shows we can look forward to on the platform, and we finally got our first proper look at the TLOU adaptation at the end. Ahh, the Friday before Black Friday. You know, the one where every retailer, digital storefront and online shop seems to start selling stuff at a discounted rate. Well, this time is no different as the sales period feels earlier and earlier each year. Today, the big digital Microsoft Store Black Friday sale has gone live, and there’s quite a few options for PC players. The list isn’t as extensive as it is on Xbox platforms, likely due to the PC store having a more limited library....

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer, along with details for the Shadow of War Expansion Pass. The trailer shows off some of the additional content provided as part of the expansion pass in particularly bloody fashion. The first DLC will also come with the previously announced infinite Shadow Wars feature. The pass comes with the following downloadable content: Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion, Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion, Blade of Galadriel story DLC, and the Desolation of Mordor story add-on....

No one can deny just how impressive it is that Minecraft’s popularity continues ten years after its release. Fans are showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, the game and its community just seems to be getting better and better as time goes on. With new content on the horizon, Minecraft is expected to be around for a long time. While the past year has been an introduction to many new features, even some of Minecraft’s old creatures and mechanics tend to be shrouded in mystery....

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 2 – Assembly Required is now available on Xbox One, 360 and PC, with PS4, PS3 and mobile editions to follow this week. Released without warning from Telltale, Episode 2 sees time running out on the story’s heroes. “The Wither Storm looms ever closer, consuming everything in its wake. Mojang has ambitious plans, as Minecraft is adding a new custom character creator for several platforms in early beta. Since its inception back in 2009, Minecraft only allowed custom skins to be imported onto the game through other methods, but this new update sets to change that by introducing the ability for players to customize their character with more options than before. Character customization has been a key part of Minecraft and it’s community, with a litany of character designs known as “skins” being created by its community for others to enjoy in their games....
