Nintendo of America currently has 88 job openings at various places. One recent, interesting listing, is for the position of a Nintendo Switch Online Manager. According to the job posting, the Manager is someone “who can lead and drive Nintendo’s online subscription service.” The listing goes on to state some of the duties of the manager, including communicating with the mother company in Japan, and establishing the overall goals for Nintendo Switch Online....

Nintendo Switch Online is still in rough shape. Some games don’t even use servers for online play, the Virtual Console is paltry at best, voice chat is still restricted to a smartphone app, and the cloud save service is rough. All of these are sticking points, sure, but one of the worst offenses that Nintendo committed here is the absolute butchering of cloud saves.
