The last Nintendo 3DS has rolled off the production line, as Nintendo has officially confirmed all forms of the Japanese games company’s previous handheld console have been discontinued. Confirming the news to GamesIndustry.biz, a Nintendo spokesperson revealed that production had actually ceased earlier this year, although the handheld system’s library of games will still be available at retail and digitally through the Nintendo eShop for the time being. “We currently have no plans to end any existing online services for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems,” said the spokesperson....

Nintendo Switch indie exclusive Sports Story has been updated to remove its criticism of game development, which was hidden away within an in-game secret room. A sequel to the beloved Golf Story, Sports Story itself featured a rocky development, and was originally due to release in 2020. It eventually arrived right at the end of last year, albeit to a lukewarm reception and launch day bugs. The subsequent discovery by fans of an in-game room - ostensibly a game development office filled with unhappy workers - raised eyebrows at the time....

Lewis’s report explains that this is part of a “restructuring” within the company. OverActive Media is an esports-focused media group with ownership stake in a number of major esports brands.
