Earlier this week, Sega released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming title Sonic Frontiers. This new trailer featured about half CG and half gameplay video along with a preview of the theme that plays at the end of the game. Don’t worry though, Sega didn’t spoil any endgame story content along with the song. The song featured in the trailer is titled Vandalize and is performed by the Japanese rock group, ONE OK ROCK....
Nihon Falcom released another trailer of its upcoming Trails JRPG The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin. This time around we get to take a look at the opening cutscene featuring pretty much the whole cast, with each hero and antagonist getting a bit of screen time. Nintendo Switch sold approximately 80,000 units in the UK during its opening weekend, retailers have confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz. The figure places the console at double the 40,000 launch units of the Wii U in 2013, but lacking behind the Xbox One’s 150,000 and PS4’s 250,000. 3DS also debuted stronger with 113,000 units. There’s something to be said about low-stakes gaming experiences. While having threats and clear goals typically are the right choice for player motivation, there’s nothing wrong with a game that’s more interested in having you kick back and take a load off, Annie. Omno was made by a single person, but it doesn’t look or feel like it. Mass Effect 4 and Mirror’s Edge 2 will both release before the end of March 2016, industry analyst Michael Pachter has predicted. The modder who previously managed to recreate Super Mario Sunshine in Super Mario 64 is at it again with a whole new project that aims to bring Banjo-Kazooie into the mix. Kaze Emanuar, a retro modder covered in TheGamer several times, has recently revealed that he is working on a project that will try to import the Banjo-Kazooie game into Super Mario 64. In other words, the entire world from Banjo-Kazooie will be playable in the Mario game, with Mario himself being the playable character since the mod will run on Super Mario 64’s game engine....
The Monster Hunter series got a facelift with last year’s Monster Hunter World. The series, mostly associated with handhelds, got the HD treatment as well as modern online play. The story took things to a new world, allowing the developers to create new monsters and entirely new lore. Mundane tasks like item gathering, questing, and crafting were streamlined much for the better. All of this newness also allowed World to serve as a great entry point for newbies....
Following Mortal Kombat 11’s Winter Wonderland holiday event that took place last week, the game has gotten a new teaser trailer celebrating the new year and the forthcoming arrival of a new DLC fighter. Specifically, it’s a teaser hyping up the eventual addition of Batman’s Joker to Mortal Kombat 11’s growing roster of fighters. It has been known for a while now that Joker will be coming to Mortal Kombat 11 as a DLC fighter, even with a prominent role in NetherRealm’s DC comic-focused fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us....
The official launch trailer for Mortal Kombat X is out and it’s full of bloody action from the imminent brawler. Interestingly the trailer was directed by System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, and features a range of game elements and action set to the band’s hit song, Chop Suey!. Asobo is gearing up to release the first full expansion for the illustrious Microsoft Flight Simulator in the form of Reno Air Races. Containing over 40 aircraft across four different types, this new expansion is dedicated to those with a need for speed and who want to have a very different experience from the typical gameplay sessions that the regular sim has to offer. After spending some hands-on time with the new content via a recent closed beta, I’m pleased to report that the gameplay of Reno Air Races definitely brings a whole new world for Microsoft Flight Simulator....
