Nintendo’s Tokyo-based animation studio, Nintendo Pictures, has officially launched, with the company’s website now live. Nintendo Pictures was formerly known as Dynamo Pictures, the CG-focused visual production company whose previous motion capture and animation work has included a series of Pikmin short films and featured in the likes of Persona 5, Final Fantasy 13-2, Monster Hunter World, and Metroid: Other M. Nintendo confirmed it would be rebranding the studio when it announced its acquisition in July, explaining it intended Nintendo Pictures to focus on the development of visual content utilising its iconic gaming IP....

Since it was first announced, One Piece Odyssey is a title that has been on the radar of both anime fans and hardcore gamers alike. With the arrival of Bandai Namco’s entry featuring one of the most iconic cast of characters nearly here, players couldn’t be more excited to start playing through it. Operation Dark Hours sends players to reclaim Washington National Airport, which has been taken over by the Black Tusks. It appears that these thugs are using the facility to bring in more soldiers to tighten the group’s control over the city. As seen in the trailer below, the Black Tusks are heavily arms and ready to defend their turf....

Announced at Blizzcon 2019, Overwatch 2 will be the sequel to the original Overwatch, moving the story forward and offering all sorts of new modes. Blizzard’s announcement that Overwatch 2 is a full-on sequel debunks earlier rumors that Overwatch 2 would be closer to Overwatch: Chapter 2, but this news doesn’t mean veteran players need to despair. Even if players don’t want to make the jump to Overwatch 2, original Overwatch players will be able to still enjoy the multiplayer changes Overwatch 2 brings....

A few big nerfs have been implemented in Blizzard’s hit team-based first-person shooter, Overwatch 2. Players have been calling for a few adjustments to the damage balance for a number of the characters, and Blizzard has delivered. Yesterday, Blizzard implemented a patch to nerf the Roadhog one-shot, as well as changing Sojourn’s charge potential. We spoke about the previous nerf in a hotfix back in December, which saw changes to Sojourn and Kiriko, but Roadhogs’ one-shot nerf never transpired....

Microsoft will not object to Activision Blizzard recognising unionisation efforts from its staff. As reported by Axios, Microsoft responded to a letter from Activision staff at Call of Duty studio Raven Software looking to unionise. QA testers at the studio announced their intent to unionise back in January. Their bid continued despite Activision Blizzard missing the deadline to acknowledge their efforts. Following the announcement of Microsoft’s $69bn takeover of the publisher, staff sent a letter to CEO Satya Nadella requesting information on the company’s involvement in approving or denying unionisation efforts....

Over the last month, Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios has been teasing fans with the imminent release of Sindel. As the last remaining MK fighter (read: non-guest character) joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster as DLC for Season 1, there is a lot of weight on her shoulders. It’s a good thing then that most of what players have seen of Sindel keeps in line with MK’s sensibilities. Mortal Kombat 11’s next DLC fighter Spawn was given his first gameplay trailer during Final Kombat this weekend, and will be officially unleashed into the fighting genre staple on March 17, 2020. However, Warner Bros. has provided early access for certain individuals, leading to more discoveries about what the Image Comics character will bring to the battlefield. One recent discovery was a killing move different than the Fatal Blow and Fatality showcased in Spawn’s trailer, in which he skinned his Mortal Kombat 11 competitors before tearing the meat from their bones....

The Terminator T-800 will be arriving shortly to Mortal Kombat 11, and the story mode ending has already been revealed by several players who had the opportunity to test the character prior to its official release. Although the T-800 has a voice actor that does a great Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation, it is Cassie Cage who performs the narration for the entire ending. She describes how the Terminator ended up in this timeline due to an accident, and that the only logical path was towards Kronika and the Hourglass to control time itself....

While Mortal Kombat: Legacy did a commendable job in quenching our thirst, it has been over 20 years since a Mortal Kombat movie has made an appearance on the big screen; 23 years since the release of the original film in 1995. However, it looks like the Warner Bros. and New Line Mortal Kombat reboot being produced by James Wan – originally announced in August 2015 – is actually moving forward full steam ahead, and will be introducing a brand new character to the franchise....

Battalion 1944, the World War II multiplayer FPS trying to recapture the charm of Call of Duty 2, left early access only on May 23rd. However, the game has already topped 250,000 copies sold. According to Bulkhead, the studio behind the game, the title accrued a million hours viewed on Twitch within a week of the release. Leaving early access has been a boon to player numbers too. A week after launch, the game had 3,789 players online, a boost over the ~100 it was seeing in April....

During today’s Ubisoft Forward livestream presentation, Netflix’s Mike Verdu announced that Netflix will be teaming up with Ubisoft to bring three of their franchises to the streaming platform. Valiant Hearts 2, Mighty Quest 2, and an Assassin’s Creed live-action series and original mobile game will be coming exclusively to Netflix starting next year. Right now, we know that Valiant Hearts 2 will be arriving in January 2023 and Mighty Quest 2 at a later point in 2023....

The original Portal was a unique and entertaining experiment by Valve, one that resulted in positive feedback from anyone who played it.
