A team of former The Elder Scrolls developers have come together to form a new studio called OnceLost Games, and it is working on its own open-world fantasy RPG title. Focusing on a spiritual successor to Daggerfall, OnceLost Games’ ambition is ‘to meet the gap between the deep, complex design pillars of games from the 1990’s, with the production values, improved controls and quality of life features in games today.’ Julian LeFay, considered to be the ‘Father of The Elder Scrolls’, is acting as the studio’s technical director, and stated in a Reddit AMA that he would be interested in creating a Daggerfall sequel of some sort....

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is exceptionally popular and it will have been the best selling game on Steam month on month for nearly a year next month. Although PUBG is incredibly popular, it has attracted hackers in their droves. Cheat protection system BattlEye tweeted this morning that over 1,044,000 PUBG cheaters were banned in January alone. They also state the cheating is escalating which means the problem is not really being addressed even with BattlEye....

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 fans are experiencing a bug that prevents weapon attachments unlocking. Although not confirmed as the cause, it seems to be a related to Infinity Ward recently disabling attachment tuning, which resulted in gamers experiencing a high number of crashes in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer. Infinity Ward said in a Tweet: “We are disabling attachment tuning until further notice to investigate crashes for users with 5 attachments tuned....

After a long wait, the Terminator T-800 gameplay video has finally arrived for Mortal Kombat 11. The arrival of the new character, modeled in the likeness of an older Arnold Schwarzenegger, looks stunning in its presentation and pays service to everything fans of the films expect to see. From the beginning it is clear that we are in for a treat, as the Terminator’s intro pays homage to the iconic scene from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, except that instead of roses, there appear to exist in this timeline Johnny Cage dolls sold in a four pack, for some reason....

MW2 developer Infinity Ward has finally provided a fix for a previous prevalent issue that prevented Xbox users from accessing the game. According to an official Twitter post from the developers, a recent update addressing this particular problem is now live and users should no longer have trouble playing the latest CoD title. Plenty of Xbox users are predictably relieved since it now allows them to enter the game smoothly without having to search up fixes for puzzling errors....

The only thing stranger about The Sinking City than its Lovecraftian tale is the debacle surrounding it. The game debuted on Steam, only to be removed. It remained available on the Epic Games Store and Gamesplanet. However, according to developer Frogwares, that Gamesplanet version of The Sinking City was stolen by the game’s former publisher Nacon. In fact, you may have briefly seen The Sinking City on Steam. Frogwares claimed that version of The Sinking City was pirated from Gamesplanet by Nacon and uploaded illegally....

The trailer starts off by showing a scene from the much-anticipated fight between Sasuke and his brother, Itachi. If you have been following Naruto Shippuden, the anime, you know that this final fight between brothers has been foreshadowed and building since the original Naruto anime. Bandai Namco Games has announced that it will be packaging three Naruto titles for the Switch next month as part of the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy bundle. The pack will be a digital-only affair and launches in the UK on April 26, and features the first three entries in the franchise that chronicles the story of Naruto Uzumaki as he transitions from the Ninja Academy to the 4th Great Ninja War....

Need for Speed Unbound will be the twenty-fifth installment in EA’s storied racing franchise. NFS titles have often been littered with fast-paced and bass-heavy tunes that complement the high-octane scenes occurring within the game. Now that the game’s release date is closer than ever, the official soundtrack for the upcoming entry has been released to the public and the track listing doesn’t stray too far from what’s been heard in previous games....

EA and DICE have revealed the official Gamescom trailer for Battlefield V, depicting a brutal skirmish in the middle of Rotterdam. It pretty much does what it says on the tin, with troops, planes, tanks, RPGs, and more leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. It looks bloody amazing too, and it’s clear the Frostbite engine is definitely flexing some serious technical muscle here. Interestingly, the trailer also appears to tease Battlefield V’s battle royale mode; we see a large fireball rapidly closing in on a group of soldiers, which seems to function in the same way as the Storm and Bluezone in Fortnite and PUBG, respectively....

On Friday, Hideo Kojima shared a character spotlight video on Twitter of Heartman, a BRIDGES scientist who researches the Death Stranding event that initiated the apocalyptic eradication of life on the planet. Not a spoiler, he dies. Every 21 minutes. I would like to say that this wouldn’t actually work. A defibrillator is used to stabilise cardiac electrical activity, of which Heartman has none because he flatlines each and every time....

If last week was an out and out lull, perhaps it’s better to think of this week as the calm before the storm. No, there probably aren’t any games you’ve been waiting all year for coming out this week, but if you haven’t yet decided between Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, and SOCOM 4 – all of them are due next week – now is probably the time. Meanwhile, an interesting assortment of odds and ends is on offer this week, arguably headlined by Michael Jackson: The Experience....

In the brand new Resident Evil 7 trailer players are introduced to Marguerite Baker and another mysterious female character in a gameplay sequence taken from the main game. Capcom notes that “some content in the gameplay trailer, although being from the main game, has been slightly adjusted in order to avoid story spoilers for consumers”. Today Aniplex released another trailer of the upcoming NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime, alongside a new piece of artwork. This time around we get the introduction of YoRHa Type A No.2, also known as A2, voiced by Ayaka Suwa. Suwa-san reprises her role from the video games and she’s also known for other roles like Mujina SSSS.Dynazenon. Nigma have advanced to the WePlay! Bukovel Dota 2 Minor after winning the event’s European qualifier. The former Team Liquid squad, now playing under the Nigma name, were heavily favored to advance to the Dota 2 Leipzig Major. They fell to the Minor qualifier after a disappointing finish in the Major’s qualifier. The Minor will offer Nigma and seven other teams one last chance to qualify for the $1,000,000 Germany event....

Last night’s Nintendo Direct was, as promised, a fifteen minute blast focused around the upcoming Super Mario Maker 2 and introduced a whole raft of new features for the make-your-own platfomer. New pieces you’ll get to use include slopes, the Angry Sun from Super Mario Bros 3, the ability to change water levels in your courses, On/Off switches which can change the conditions of other blocks when pressed, Snake Blocks which can wind their way around the course and much more....
