Nvidia is the latest company to announce a big cancellation due to concerns surrounds the coronavirus. Its GPU Technology Conference — which was set to run from March 22 to March 26 — will shift to an online-only format instead of being held at the San Jose Convention Center. The convention was expected to bring over 10,000 industry experts together to discuss the latest and greatest in graphics processing. Featured speakers included staff from Google, Stanford University, Ericsson, and Nvidia....

While they may be somewhat late to the game, Nvidia has finally introduced its GeForce 400 series of graphics processors at PAX. The GTX 470 and 480 are Nvidia’s first DirectX 11 compatible graphics cards, while ATI has been shipping DirectX 11 compatible cards since September 2009. The Nvidia GTX 480 comes in at a whopping $500 and promises to be the biggest, baddest, fastest consumer graphics card on the market....

Oculus co-founder and VR pioneer Palmer Luckey is leaving Facebook today, around three years after Oculus was acquired by the firm in a deal worth $2 billion. “Palmer will be dearly missed. Palmer’s legacy extends far beyond Oculus. His inventive spirit helped kickstart the modern VR revolution and helped build an industry. We’re thankful for everything he did for Oculus and VR, and we wish him all the best,” reads a statement from Oculus given to Upload VR....

Rockstar has released an update for L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files which now adds Oculus Rift support. The game came out last December with Vive compatibility but now it also supports the Rift and Oculus Touch controllers. The update is now available on Steam and the game is now also available in the Oculus store. L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is not the full L.A Noire game but instead takes seven self-contained casess from the game and puts them into VR....

For those who own Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and wish to level up their Spirits, there’s a new, slightly pricey option. As long as players own a Switch Online subscription ($20 a year) they can now feed their Spirits with some free currency. It’s called a Spirit Pack, and it comes with five large snacks, 30 medium snacks, 100 small snacks and 3000 SP, for buying spirits, music or other goodies from the in-game Super Smash Bros....

Today Activision announced via press release that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 achieved impressive sales in the first few days following its release. The massively-anticipated game has managed to set a new record for the top-selling opening weekend in the history of the franchise, earning over $800 million in sell-through worldwide after its release on October 28. Incidentally, the press release also mentioned that this is bigger than any box office opening of 2022, beating Top Gun Maverick and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness combined....

Modern Warfare has seen tremendous success since launch. It was the best-selling game of the year in 2019 despite only coming out in November. But not everything is perfect with the game. Infinity Ward has found themselves under fire since launch over bugs, community-hated changes, and poor communication from the developers. The Call of Duty series typically sell well and are good games in the eyes of many fans. However, as news about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been revealed, some of the planned features have disappointed fans. The decision to withhold the Spec Ops game mode Survival for a year on Xbox and PC have been met negatively. Combined with the reintroduction of microtransactions, Activision has received a great deal of backlash, with rumors surfacing that they are re-evaluating these choices because of lost pre-orders....

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter XX is arriving in the US and Europe this summer as Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for Nintendo Switch. At present, we know that Sunbreak, which Capcom previously described as an “new, ominous chapter” for Monster Hunter Rise, will introduce new monsters, new locations, new hunting actions, and a new, more challenging quest rank - very much in the same vein as Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, albeit rather less frosty in nature....

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Rise has shipped over 4 million copies globally worldwide since its launch of the game on Nintendo Switch just this past weekend. A press release for the milestone announced the news, which continues the series’ trend for massive success following previous title Monster Hunter World selling five million units on that game’s first weekend back in 2018, setting a new franchise record at the time....

More details on F1 2015 will be revealed next week, Codemasters has teased. In an update on the Codies Blog, community manager Lee Williams revealed that the publisher will be “back next week with some more details on F1 2015 so be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts for all the latest news”. Codemasters formally announced F1 2015 last month, revealing the first official screenshots and confirming that the game will arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 12....

One of the games that grabbed my attention more than most at E3 2010 was Activision’s remake of the class James Bond first person shooter, GoldenEye. GoldenEye, based closely on the James Bond film of the same name, originally debuted on the N64 as product by Rare back in 1997. The remake is developed by Eurocom and it takes what we loved most about the original, improving it all for the current generation....

When it was revealed that Joker was including in the first Kombat Pack of characters for Mortal Kombat 11, the community was largely left underwhelmed and disappointed by the reveal. Worse yet, the character’s visual look also came into question, which only added to the controversy.
