The most extreme title announced during the THQ Nordic 10th Anniversary Showcase has to be MX vs ATV Legends. Unfortunately, the announcement had very little to show by way of gameplay. The trailer is just a few slow-motion shots of the various vehicles tearing up the terrain. As the name suggests, MX vs ATV Legends will let you live out your dream of becoming an extreme off-road rider. You’ll be able to test your skills on motorbikes, ATVs, and UTVs....

With season 3 of Netflix’s The Witcher adaptation now officially in production, the streaming service is beginning to loosen its lips about what’s in store, and that includes casting news for four characters being introduced as part of the series’ third outing. Netflix confirmed filming on season 3 was officially underway earlier this month, sharing a behind-the-scenes shot of the show’s Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri (that is, Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan) on-set and in the snow....

A new gameplay trailer has been released for Black Myth: Wukong. The game grew to prominence when it was revealed in 2020, showcasing its Soulslike gameplay and basis on Chinese novel Journey To The West. However, the new trailer has also resurfaced criticism of the game’s developer for misogynistic views. In a now-viral tweet, user Sumerian Tater Tots shared a “friendly reminder that the game developer himself said this game ’needed no female players’”....

Earlier today Square Enix and Dontnod revealed 20 min of gameplay footage from Life is Strange 2. We see what is basically the prologue to the game and the very first episode. They have given us a glimpse that is so much more than the one-minute trailer. This was released via their official Facebook and Youtube Channel. It’s been awhile since we heard from Gotham Knights. After the game was delayed from a 2021, things got quiet until last October when we got a new trailer and release date. However, following an yesterday, we got a 13-minute long gameplay video today courtesy of WB Games. The new Gotham Knights gameplay showcase focuses on Nightwing, aka the original Robin (Dick Grayson), as well as Jason Todd, the second Robin who died and came back as Red Hood....

The Need for Speed team took to the EA blog earlier today to give the lead-footed gamers out there an update on the next game. It was revealed that a new Need for Speed title will be coming later this year. The team explains that it’s focused on where it want to take the future of the franchise. Just a little while back, indie game publisher and short-lived NFT supporter Team17 announced a new “hardcore looter shooter” in the form of Marauders. Developed by Small Impact Games, Marauders appears similar to games like Escape from Tarkov except that, of course, it takes place in space. More specifically, the game places players within “an early-1990s dieselpunk alternate future.” You control a space pirate who aims to break into spaceships, take down other players and AI, and collect whatever loot they can find....

Video games are often a very secretive business, with marketing bods planning exactly how and when information is delivered to consumers. However, occasionally something happens which scuppers these well made plans. A reddit user’s eye was caught by some documents displayed on a laptop screen being used by a passenger on the Montreal subway. These documents turned out to be marketing materials for a yet to be announced Tomb Raider title, under the working title Shadow of the Tomb Raider....

SpongeBob SquarePants is turning 20 soon; a fact that Nickelodeon has spent much of the year reminding the world in celebratory jubilance. Besides the July 20 special, SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout!, the diminutive dweller of a pineapple under the sea has lined up another movie, a confirmed prequel series and even possible spinoffs. Today Aniplex released a new trailer of the upcoming NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime, alongside new artwork. We get to see our old buddy pascal and his peaceful machine friends. Nintendo fans should immediately stop using its archaic Wi-Fi dongle, the company has said. The device - officially named the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector - slotted into your PC and provided internet access to the Nintendo DS. However, continued use now risks your computer being targeted by “unauthorised access” or “infection of the computer terminal” with a virus, Nintendo has now cautioned. In a customer support blog post, Nintendo apologised for the inconvenience (thanks, Nintendo Life)....

The drifting issues with the Nintendo Switch are such a problem that legal action has been taken against Nintendo, and the Nintendo Switch Lite has now become part of the lawsuit. The Nintendo Switch comes with two Joy-Con controllers that each have a joystick, but the quality of the joysticks has come under scrutiny over the past year. The Joy-Cons are susceptible to an issue known as drifting, which is often caused by being too forceful with the joysticks....

Peripheral maker Nyxi is releasing a GameCube controller for the Switch. The Nyxi Wizard Wireless Joy-pad is similar in design to Nintendo’s beloved WaveBird controller, with the iconic coloured buttons and giant A. Now it can slot around your Switch screen. In a press release, Bandai Namco has announced a new online action RPG: Blue Protocol. The game is being developed by their new Project Blue Sky, formed from Bandai Namco Online and Bandai Namco Studios. A new generation of online game graphics Blue Protocol is touted as having “overwhelming graphics, like an anime movie realized in-game.” Accordingly, the screenshot has a color palette reminiscent of the vivid blues and greens found in the 2016 hit anime Your Name....
