Junker Queen has had a tumultuous time in Overwatch 2. Her initial beta state was quite powerful, but since then, Junker Queen hasn’t been able to make a splash in the competitive scene. One of the newest tank heroes in Overwatch 2, Junker Queen has a rockstar kit with a huge swinging axe, a throwable knife, and a feast or famine ultimate ability. Unfortunately, she’s only existed in an underpowered state for the majority of her existence, so Blizzard is touching Junker Queen up yet again with another buff in the latest Overwatch 2 patch....

Microsoft is reportedly readying to make a number of formal concessions to EU regulators investigating its proposed $69bn acquisition of Activision Blizzard, including the guarantee Call of Duty will be availalble on PlayStation for the next ten years. Call of Duty has remained a focal point during government scrutiny of Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard deal, with regulators - including those in the UK and Europe - raising fears Microsoft may leverage the juggernaut franchise to gain an unfair advantage over its competition....

Hey Ranters, I just finished with day one of PAX and I am exhausted! Forgive me if my prose is a tad aloof, or you know, whatever. Microsoft has revealed that the closed beta for its upcoming mobile AR game Minecraft Earth is set to go live in the next two weeks, alongside a video that gives us a very clear picture of how it plays. As you can see from the video – which we’ve embedded below – you’ll use the app on your phone as you walk around the real world in a manner not dissimilar to Niantic’s Pokemon Go, with real-world buildings swapped out for Minecraft counterparts....

Power creep is nothing new to Overwatch but the latest Experimental Card has taken it to another level. As listed on the official patch notes, both Moira and Genji have received some tweaks to their kits. In Genji’s case, this is understandable due to his extremely high pick rate at the professional level. However, it’s difficult to justify Moira’s changes. The most notable buff is that now when Moira uses her fade ability it will affect nearby teammates....

It can also be useful for crafting items. Monster Fluid is described as “A liquid that bugs suck from monsters. Mixes with insect fluids to form an adhesive”. Ed Boon says that the story circulating on social media that it takes $6,440 to unlock every skin in Mortal Kombat 11 is “complete BS.” Mortal Kombat 11 is here, and while everyone is quite happy with the bloody violence the game provides, not everyone is impressed with the game’s economics. Specifically, one Redditor calculated how much it would cost to purchase every character’s skin with zero grinding of in-game currency....

MotorStorm’s iconic yellow buggy – the Wombat Typhoon – is now available to download in DriveClub for free. The buggy arrives two weeks after it was first teased on the Japanese PlayStation Blog, and lets players race around DriveClub’s circuits in the fan-favourite off-road vehicle. A new Lunatics Expansion Pack featuring new Tour Events based around the buggy is also rumoured to be in development, with a release possibly due later this month....

NBA 2K20 is finally available. The yearly iteration of the basketball franchise is here and it comes at the heels of a controversy. Last week, internet users discovered that NBA 2K20‘s MyTeam mode might have a gambling mechanic. That also led to a response from PEGI. But, that’s neither here nor there. There’s something about the dead of winter and the dead of space that are equally haunting. And, considering that The Callisto Protocol releases later this year in December, I’d say that the theme tracks. The latest trailer for The Callisto Protocol gives some much-needed information regarding, which just happens to be the abandoned Black Iron prison on one of Jupiter’s moons, Callisto. Titled “The Truth of the Black Iron,” the trailer shows the game’s protagonist, Jacob Lee, as he goes on an exploration of the massive Black Iron maximum security prison....

Today Square Enix announced details and timing for the next Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live broadcast. The livestream will be aired on February 18, 2022 at 6:00 pm PST on Twitch and YouTube (for which you can already find an embed below). This time around, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida will be sharing information on “what’s in store for the future” the game. Yoshida-san had already teased such a reveal for February, and looks like he’s keeping his promise....

Arika, the developer known for its work on the Street Fighter EX series of games, has announced a new game. The Mysterious Fighting Game (title tbd) has been announced for release on the PS4 in 2018, with a beta coming at the end of 2017. The YouTube description of the trailer notes that, ‘ARIKA has decided to begin development on a PlayStation 4 version of “Mysterious Fighting Game (Title Undecided)” and make a public announcement on the final day of EVO2017....

Over 30 new images of the upcoming Persona 5 sequel, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers have been released in the most recent edition of popular Japanese video game magazine Famitsu. And boy, oh boy, are they lookin’ cool. The newly released images focus on three major characters - Morgana (Mona), Ryuji (Skull), and Ann (Panther) - and feature screengrabs of some of the Phantom Thieves in action. Despite Persona 5 Scramble’s departure from turn-based combat to real-time fighting, the images illustrate some of the ways that previous fighting mechanics, like the signature “all-out attacks”, have been adapted for the new game....

With gamers talking about the PS4’s UI needing a facelift, it appears, based on rumors now circulating, that Sony intends to do just that, giving users the ability to create a wishlist and gift games to their friends. Given that the PlayStation 4’s interface is merely an updated version of the same one offered to users on the PS3, this is welcome news. While this doesn’t necessarily mean that the same features will be ported over to the company’s newest system, it’s hard to imagine that they won’t be a part of it considering that the newer console’s release is just around the corner....

As of today, there are two new titles available for free to Xbox Gold members. Of course, the games are only available to download for Gold members and otherwise they remain at their set price. This month has already seen the release of Tembo the Badass Elephant and Disney’s Bolt. Bolt was originally an Xbox 360 game and has now returned to its normal listing. Fortunately, the new downloadable game from the Xbox 360 archives is worthy competition....

As the Battle for Azeroth dies down, many World of Warcraft players have a ton of questions, including who will become the next Warchief after Sylvanas. There are a ton of unanswered questions about what comes next in the Visions of N’Zoth update, but one things players have recently receive a glimpse of are the two Allied races: the Vulpera and the Mechagnomes. World of Warcraft’s next update will see Alliance and Horde players taking on the threat of an elder god, exploring the dark realm of N’Zoth, fighting the madness of the said deity, and checking out the invasions of Uldum and the restored Vale of Eternal Blossoms....

The dimensions of each image – both of which show a view of a beach - are given as 2038 x 1536 pixels, which would suggest a lowly 3.1-megapixel camera. However, the resolution could have been altered for Google+ so hopefully we’ll be seeing a higher-end camera built in to the device.
