More evidence has emerged that a PC release of Returnal could be on the way. This time, it’s courtesy of a GDC talk on VFX from Housemarque & Playstation Studios’ Risto Jankkila and Sharman Jagadeesan. As Digital Foundry’s Alex Battaglia spotted, the game appears to be running on a PC dev kit and includes a debug readout. Activision has banned more than 50,000 Call of Duty: Warzone players for cheating (via IGN). Warzone has seen serious success as the free-to-play battle royale entry for the franchise. Within its first 24 hours, the game registered six million players across all platforms, surpassing stats for Apex Legends and Fortnite. Now, Warzone has reached more than 30 million players since its launch last month, but not all of them have been playing fair....

It’s been a great year for fighting games with the continued support of Tekken 7, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Dragon Ball FighterZ, as well as the critical and commercial hit that is Mortal Kombat 11. Set as a direct sequel to 2015’s Mortal Kombat X, Mortal Kombat 11 quickly became the best-selling game of 2019 and held that title until September, receiving praise from critics and fans for its gameplay, story, and graphics....

Ed Boon has taken to Twitter to reveal the cover art for Mortal Kombat 11, and it probably won’t shock you to see ninja spectre Scorpion taking centre stage. Naughty Dog, developer of the upcoming Last of Us Part 2, provided an update today about their future plans for multiplayer. According to a Tweet from the company, The Last of Us Part 2 will not contain a multiplayer mode, but the developer has confirmed work on a multiplayer-only title. Despite its reputation as a developer of single-player only experiences, Naughty Dog has included multiplayer modes in many of its flagship titles....

One of the latest mods released for Skyrim switches the combat system to mimic Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Sekiro has a combat system that relies on timing, quick movements, and combos. Based in 16th century Japan, Sekiro features combat with a samurai blade, and many enemies carry unique weapons used in that era....

The team over at Videocardz has revealed the full specs of the upcoming GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070. Though a specific date and pricing is unconfirmed, the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 are both slated to hit retail stores sometime in mid-September. The RTX 3070 will follow suit shortly thereafter along with the eventual release of the lower-level RTX 3060....

OlliOlli developer Roll7 is working on a new “multi-platform, multiplayer-focused” IP due for release in 2017, it was announced today. The game will be published by 505 Games and will be a “brand new concept” described as a “complete departure for the studio”, tapping into “one of the biggest current gaming trends”. “We have been impressed with Roll7’s work for a long time and have admired what they’ve accomplished under their own steam,” said 505 president Ian Howe....
