Square Enix’s remake of NieR Replicant will land later this week with plenty of extra content from the original, and the game’s latest trailer highlights some of these additions as well as some forthcoming DLC. As detailed in this thread by the game’s Japanese Twitter account (and helpfully translated by Gematsu), the game will include 15 “Nightmare Dungeons” that will provide super difficult fights, with bonus costumes available for those up to the task....

Nintendo has confirmed that its online subscription service Nintendo Switch Online can now boast a user count of more than ten million subscribers. The information came from a Q&A at the company’s 79th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, where Director and President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed the figure in a question on the service, saying: ‘The number of subscribers for Nintendo Switch Online has increased steadily since the service was launched last September, and it has now surpassed 10 million accounts....

Nintendo announced in its latest earnings report that total sales for the Nintendo Switch consoles have surpassed 4.7 million units as of June 30, which isn’t too bad considering they’re still hard to get hold of. I bet it’d have sold 4.7 million more if they were available. Despite the demand, Nintendo hasn’t increased its overall sales forecast of 10 million. Nintendo also confirmed that the E3 2017-announced Pokemon RPG for Switch would come out sometime in 2018, or later....

Following on from the Xbox getting a free Destiny 2 weekend a couple of weeks ago, today Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 players will also get their chance to enjoy a free weekend of Destiny 2 from this Friday. As per the announcement, the event runs from June 29 through until Monday, July 2 and the pre-load is available right now. Just like the Xbox One event you’ll be able to play through the entirety of the main game’s campaign and the PvP Crucible modes and any progress you make will carry over should you choose to buy the game afterwards....

Nvida lifted the wraps off its lineup of next-generation video cards during a press conference at Gamescom yesterday. The RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti will all launch on September 20, and utilise Turning GPU architecture and have the capability of pumping out ray tracing technology, hence the RTX moniker. In this respect, the Turning tech is roughly four times faster than Volta workstation GPUs. If that all sounds a little bit too technical (it is for me, anyway), it basically means that they’ll make games look super lovely, which is what you would expect for a card that costs around $1000....

Mojang announced that Minecraft Dungeons, the dungeon crawler spin-off, will be launching for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 26 (via IGN). Last month, the developer informed the community that development of Minecraft Dungeons may be affected by the global coronavirus crisis. “As we’re working from home to do our part in protecting our community, our workflows will unfortunately be impacted. We’re working hard to deliver Minecraft Dungeons in April, but we’re also re-evaluating our timeline to make sure we bring you the best game possible,” explained Mojang in a statement....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s battle pass is going to be a bit late, with players now being urged to wait until December. The recently released title was likely a huge talking point during Activision’s recent Q3 earnings call and the company has also published financial results. The video game publishers disclosed plans for their battle pass during said call, revealing it’s set to launch next month. Activision had previously described the pass when they announced it ahead of Modern Warfare’s October release, telling gamers there will be both free and premium content up for grabs....
