Update: Oculus founder Palmer Luckey has said that the Oculus announcement set for The Game Awards will not be related to the device’s release date or pre-orders. “Really cool announcement happening at The Game Awards! (Not preorders opening),” he Tweeted. It seems likely then, that the announcement will be in relation to a specific game with Oculus support. Original report: Look out for a “special announcement” from Oculus at The Game Awards in the early hours of Friday morning, the event’s host and producer Geoff Keighley has revealed....

Glumberland’s roadmap for its delightful farming and monster dancing sim Ooblets includes the new Nullwhere Region, Halloween celebrations, and a proper launch in 2021. Since it entered early access, the small team has rolled out 25 patches between July and August—no mean feat. September will see the v0.4 Nullwhere Update add a new visitable region with new crops and recipes. In addition, ooblets from Nullwhere will be familiar to players, but they’ll be able to discover uncommon and gleamy versions of these same ooblets....

Speaking during an interview with Business Insider, Microsoft has revealed that there are currently no plans to develop a sequel to Minecraft. ‘I really don’t think that makes sense for Minecraft, given the community,’ revealed Helen Chiang, head of Minecraft at the Xbox format holder. ‘It’s something that always fractures the community.’ To be fair, there’s probably no need to work on a sequel right now anyway given how popular Minecraft is....

Mojang Studios is teaming with Sega to launch an official Sonic the Hedgehog DLC pack for Minecraft to celebrate the speedster’s 30th birthday. As per the announcement on Minecraft.net the pack includes recreations of classic levels like Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant Zone. Naturally, the pack also includes skins for Sonic and his friends including Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow and even Dr Robotnik. A special server event is also set to take place care of The Hive....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Warzone leaks seem to come on a daily basis at this point, as fans expect the mode to drop literally any day now. The latest leak comes from YouTube channel Chaos, which uploaded a gameplay video about Warzone that has since been removed, as it was likely published prematurely. Details from the video were preserved before it was taken down, however, revealing a lot about Warzone in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and what it will entail....

Today NIS America revealed a new trailer of the western release for North America and Europe for FuRyu’s school JRPG Monark, on top of releasing a playable demo. The trailer focuses on the story, while the demo lets you play through chapter 1 of the game. On top of that, you can also transfer your save data to the release version when it launches. It’s available for PS5 and PS4. The Nintendo Switch version should also become available soon, while a PC version of the demo has not been announced (while the listing on Steam for the game itself is available)...

When Monster Hunter World: Iceborne finally released on PC January 9, it was lacking some content already made available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions through updates since the expansion launched last September. This week, Capcom released a roadmap for all the content players on either side of the aisle can expect to see until the two versions sync up in April, and teased the return of a “fan-favorite” monster soon after....

Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that it is exploring the possibility of cross-platform play for the heart-ripping fighting game sequel. That’s according to WCCFTech, who quizzed game designer Derek Kirtzic on the subject during the Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event last week in London. While not going into detail, Kirtzic said that it’s something the team are looking into and hope to achieve at some point. Cross-platform play has obviously come a long way as of late, thanks to Sony finally opening up the floodgates to the feature on PlayStation 4....

A remastered collection of the first three Mortal Kombat games was reportedly in development at Blind Squirrel Games, but has now been scrapped, according to DSOGaming. Blind Squirrel Games has experience with remasters of course, having previously worked on the BioShock Collection and Borderlands Enhanced. Among the features new to the remaster would have included a Krypt mode, which according to Blind Squirrel Games’ Danny Huynh, would have offered a new way to play the first three Mortal Kombat games....
