The upcoming PC version of Need for Speed promises to be the ultimate edition of the game thanks to its unlocked frame rate and ability to run at the magical 4K resolution. The only problem is that the majority of PC gamers may struggle to achieve 1080p/60fps, let alone 4K. To achieve 720p/30fps at low settings you’ll still need a modest i3 processor and a 2GB GTX 750i, whereas 1080p/60fps will require an i5 and 4GB GTX 970....
Today The Pokemon Company released new trailers for its upcoming mainline game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The first trailer, appropriately to the season, focuses on Ghost-type Pokemon including a Mimikyu and a Gengar, but the real star is a completely new Pokemon named Greavard (“Bocchi” in Japanese). Danish esports organization North have confirmed the sale of former player Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså. The Danish star left the team earlier this year as rumors suggested he would be joining storied Dota 2 organization OG in their first venture into CS:GO. Valde has not played with North since October, and the organization has now confirmed his sale to a CS:GO team that is yet to be named. Valde first signed with North in August of 2017....

Microsoft confirmed during its Xbox X018 event over the weekend that it has officially acquired Obsidian Entertainment and InXile Entertainment. Rumours had popped up in recent weeks that Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian was next in line to snuggle under the Microsoft umbrella, so the news is perhaps not all that surprising. InXile, however, was not at all expected, as we hadn’t heard anything about that until now. Warner Bros has announced on its blog that its forthcoming title, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, will have purchasable loot boxes and premium currency to level up protagonist Talion more quickly than the regular, grind-y way. In Shadow of War, the player will be able to buy Loot Chests, War Chests, and XP boosts from the in-game shop (the Market), using in-game acquired currency or for the impatient ones, actual money. Loot Chests contain XP boosts and gear ‘of varying rarity,’ according to Warner Bros, whereas War Chests will reward the player with Orc followers whose rarity is randomised....
Mighty No.9 has been delayed into 2016, developer Comcept has informed the game’s backers ahead of a wider announcement at Gamescom this week. “Although we understand that everyone was looking forward to playing Mighty No.9 as soon as possible, a release delay is going to be announced for the game at Gamescom 2015, which is currently being held in Cologne, Germany,” reads the message. Last week, NetherRealm Studios revealed the release dates of four upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters, the Terminator T-800, Sindel, the Joker, and Spawn, by way of an MK11 Kombat Pack 1 trailer. Indeed, this trailer confirmed that the Terminator will be the next fighter to join the MK11 DLC characters list, and he will do so on October 8. Masked warrior Kabal is officially making a comeback in Mortal Kombat 11, developer NetherRealm Studios has announced. Kabal has been knocking around since Mortal Kombat 3 back in the mid-90s, and is notable for the fact he rarely shows his face and wields two deadly hooked blades. He skipped Mortal Kombat X however, so his return here is a welcome addition to the roster. From the look of things he’s still pretty fast, with some of his attacks seeing him zipping past his enemies to stun them momentarily....
