Mortal Kombat X’s rumoured Predator and Colonel Dillon DLC characters could be joined by a playable version of Spawn, the character’s creator Todd McFarlane has revealed. Speaking to GamerFitNation, McFarlane revealed that a “short deal” is in place with NetherRealm that allows the character to be included in Mortal Kombat X (and Injustice) if desired. “That means that they have access to be able to use the character in a couple of their games, if they want to,” McFarlane said....

The Last of Us 2 developer Naughty Dog has issued a public statement condemning the harassment and death threats sent to members of the development team and voice cast via the company’s Twitter account over the weekend. The tweet, which you can see below, says that although the studio welcomes criticism on the game, they in no uncertain terms ‘condemn any form of harassment or threats directed towards our team and cast’ and that ‘we must all work together to root out this type of behavior and maintain a constructive and compassionate discourse....

The claims come from GameSpot , which alleges it has information directly from a private Discord server through which Hasan Kahraman of Blue Box Game Studios, Abandoned’s director, communicates with a handful of selected fans. In exchange for access to “screenshots, animations, and even a page of the game’s script”, the members are required to sign a NDA, so some would only speak about the project under strict anonymity....

Respawn Entertainment has revealed that Newcastle will be joining the roster of Apex Legends when Season 13, titled Saviors, launches on May 10. The new character was seemingly leaked back in March alongside a larger list of nine future characters. Newcastle, the 21st character hero to join the game, is described as the Hero of Harris Valley. A new trailer for the character showcases his Robocop style character design and shield abilities as he mingles with the rest of the cast....

Sony has taken a user-created Super Mario model out of Dreams in keeping with a request made by Nintendo (via Destructoid). Dreams is out now on the PlayStation 4. Only recently, Media Molecule unveiled a beta evaluation process for those players who want to make money from their creations using the software. “We welcome and encourage creators to do this, but it’s new territory for us. We’ve been busy behind the scenes mapping out how we can make it easier for creators to do this in the future,” said studio director Siobhan Reddy....

The creators of Descent, Matt Toschlog and Mike Kulas, have joined forces to form Revival Productions and have been working away on Overload, a new six-degree-of-freedom shooter – a spiritual successor to the classic Descent titles. The team is looking for Kickstarter backing of $300,000 which will enable the creation of PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions, with more money allowing for Mac/Linux and possibly even VR support. Today Capcom announced with a press release that Monster Hunter Rise has shipped over 8 million copies worldwide. This includes the Switch version and the recent release for PC, both at physical retail (available only for Nintendo Switch) and digital download. Capcom has announced a free high resolution texture pack for the PC version of Monster Hunter World.
