Capcom is finally letting the monster loose, so to speak, for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’s next major content patch. Capcom’s previously confirmed that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne would receive another content update featuring a brand new monster during 2019. That monster is now confirmed to be Stygian Zinogre, an endgame encounter that should challenge the strongest of Monster Hunter World players. Expect Stygian Zinogre to launch on December 5. This won’t be Stygian Zinogre’s first appearance in the Monster Hunter franchise, though the monster has certainly received a visual upgrade to its previous appearances....

Spawn, the final DLC fighter in Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack 1, is set to make his first appearance in a gameplay trailer debuting on March 8 at Final Kombat 2020, the game’s official e-sports tournament. Spawn will mark the third guest fighter making an appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 following the additions of The Joker and The Terminator over the past year. While little is known yet about what Spawn will bring to the table as a combatant, his long-standing legacy in comics and films provides much to speculate on regarding what will be revealed in his premiere trailer....

Crysis 2 will be releasing within days now and Crytek has released the last Crysis 2 Experience video, this time showing off PC gameplay. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot recently received a new visual for the upcoming action RPG, which follows online rumors of it getting a new box art. It seems that the original box art of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Goku on Nimbus with an orange background was too simple for some, causing them to voice their concern over it. In response to this, Bandai Namco confirmed that a new visual was in the works, which some took to believe that the box art was getting replaced....

Epic has announced its next free game on the Epic Games Store - ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove. The game will be free to dip your toes in from 13th to 19th October and will replace Rising Hell and Slain: Back From Hell, which are currently free to download. Back in the Groove is a “funky fresh rogue-like adventure infused with old skool hip-hop and jam packed with awesome throwbacks to the 1991 classic”, according to the Epic store page....

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, previously announced for PS4, will also launch on PC, Bandai Namco has announced. Developed by Level-5 with the assistance of former Studio Ghibli animator Yoshiyuki Momose and music by Joe Hisaishi, Ni no Kuni II is set to launch later this year. The first game was widely acclaimed when it launched in the West for PS3 early in 2013. “In the world of Ni no Kuni, there is a kingdom called Ding Dong Dell, where cats, mice and humans used to live in harmony,” reads the game’s blurb....

Nintendo has announced its next Nintendo Direct Mini showcase will take place tomorrow at 3pm UK time to show off upcoming Nintendo Switch titles from their publishing partners. As per usual, it’ll be streamed live on Nintendo’s official YouTube accounts, and is the third such showcase focusing on the non-Nintendo studios bringing games to the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. The most recent Nintendo Direct was a special broadcast for Mario’s 35th anniversary, revealing a bunch of remastered and new Mario titles to celebrate the plucky plumber’s milestone including this Friday’s release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars....

Nintendo Switch will launch at a price lower than the Wii U did in Japan, reports Japanese publication Nikkei – as translated by Engadget. The paper expects the Switch to launch at approximately ¥25,000, which is around $215 or £210 including VAT. However, international pricing is never usually this straightforward, with the ¥26,250 Wii U costing $299 in the US and £250 in the UK. Still, if the Japanese price is accurate, you’d expect the Switch to go on sale for no more than $250/£250....

With the current concerns over the Omicron wave, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has made an early call in regards to E3 2022. As reported by GamesBeat, the annual gaming convention is once again forgoing the physical component, and going online instead. This will be the second year in a row that the show is digital following its cancellation back in 2020. “Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding Covid-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022,” the organizers of E3, the ESA, told GamesBeat....
