I was never the biggest fan of the Monster Hunter franchise. That honor, at least among those in the PC Invasion team, goes to Andrew Farrell, who reviewed Monster Hunter Rise when it came out earlier this year. Fast forward and it’s my turn to cover Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the expansion that’s set to release tomorrow on Steam. I knew that my work was cut out for me, given that I had less than two weeks to play not just the base game, but also this expansion....

Following a December leak, not a quill was seen regarding the new animated Sonic the Hedgehog show coming to Netflix. The original tweet went live on December 10, which led some to believe there would be an announcement during The Game Awards later that night. A new Plants vs Zombies game is in development for release on console and PC in early 2016, EA has announced. A new trailer for Team Bondi’s latest, L.A. Noire, has released that shines light on one of the pre-order exclusive cases that gamers will have the chance of solving if they purchase the game from Walmart. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has said that Nintendo can’t make sequels to accommodate every fan’s wishes. During an annual general meeting (via VGC), a shareholder asked Furukawa about sequels. Specifically, about Nintendo making sequels to its older franchises. Games such as F-Zero and Wario Land, which people love. “It is realistically difficult to develop new titles and remakes,” Furukawa said. “Including sequels, for every Nintendo game that people request.” He then added: “But we are very grateful and appreciate the expectations our fans have for our games....

Nintendo may be developing a new Paper Mario game to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary, and reports claim that this title will be a return to the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube entries (via IGN). As well as a new Paper Mario game, the developer is also apparently going to re-release the majority of the Super Mario series for the Switch. This offering includes Mario Galaxy, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and a deluxe version of Super Mario 3D World....

The golf update for Nintendo Switch Sports has been delayed. Originally aiming for an autumn release, it will now arrive as a free holiday update this year to allow for “a bit more time for development”. The news came via Nintendo’s latest Direct, which included some extra information about the mode.
