Capcom has released three new videos detailing some of the new weapons and techniques coming to Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion when it releases later this year. Covering three categories: Heavy Weapons, Light Weapons and Technical Weapons, each video gives us some detail on some of the new techniques that will be afforded to players attempting to bring down their prey in Monster Hunter World’s new region, as well as tricky combinations such as those with the expansion’s new Clutch Claw; a sort of grappling hook that lets you both pull yourself towards monsters, as well as using it for traversal....

Moonshiners is an American TV show dedicated to profiling a group of illegal alcohol makers. The difference between them and other companies out there is the fact that they create their booze in the backwoods. This means it’s essentially done while on the run. The TV show is a part of the Discovery Channel (believe it or not) and will now be adapted into a video game. Win or lose, we still booze?...

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made a crossover of epic proportions by introducing MultiVersus. MultiVersus includes classic characters from Warner Bros., DC Comics, HBO, Turner Entertainment, and Cartoon Network. While there are 19 playable characters at the time of writing, 17 are unlockable and two more are to come soon. The primary format will be 2v2 although 1v1 and free-for-all will also be available. Since the game is in its early stages, it is still prone to bugs and issues....

Naraka: Bladepoint is the massively-multiplayer action game where you’ll ring steel against other players in a mysterious Oriental land. Imagine if Bayonetta, Assassin’s Creed, Warframe, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon all went into a motel room for a night of unrestrained hedonism. Nine months later, you’d get a game that looks like Nakara: Bladepoint. Probably. We don’t have a lot to go on, but that’s what the trailer looks like, anyway....

NBA 2K20 may not be people’s favorite game - or even anywhere near the list - but in the light of the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, it has become a way to bring people together. When starting up the game, you will now see a photo of Bryant in black and white, with the years 1978-2020 underneath - added by 2K Sports. The same image is also presented as a billboard in NBA 2K20’s The Neighborhood hub world....

2K has released a new gameplay trailer for NBA 2K21 showing off how the game will look on next-gen systems when it launches on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 at their respective launches. The footage, captured on a PlayStation 5, shows off some of the visual upgrades you’ll enjoy, including “next-gen lighting, textures, physics, animations, and more” as well as rebuilt player movement and impact driven by a new on-court animation and collision engine....

Need For Speed’s widely-criticised ‘rubber banding’ AI is to be patched in a future game update, developer Ghost Games has confirmed. The new patch, which Ghost expects to release before the end of November, will provide “more balanced ‘AI Catch Up’” to help ensure players aren’t unfairly overtaken by rival AI racers. The patch will also include the “first look” at neons, increase the REP cap from 50 to 60 and introduce 3 new Trophies and Achievements....

Today, Electronic Arts and Criterion Games released a new gameplay trailer of Need for Speed Unbound. The video starts by showing off a meetup, where you can meet other racers and take a good look at their rides, on top of showing off yours. There you can select events, and one of these is the Speed Race, which is pretty much what it says on the tin. It’s a simple race in which you have to race directly against a grid of eight named opponents....

Netflix’s Dragon’s Dogma anime is coming to the streaming service in September, from studio Sublimation, Inc. In the game, the Arisen—a customisable hero—loses their heart to the Dragon, named Grigori. The world of Gransys is under threat from Grigori, and the Arisen embarks on a quest to take back their heart, avert the apocalypse, and reveal an ancient conspiracy. All in a day’s work, if you ask me. Sublimation Inc. cut its teeth on the anime Walking Meat, and has credits on Gatchaman CROWDS, 009 Re: Cyborg, God Eater, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These....

Shoot ’em ups (or shmups) are not known for having many hours of content. Sure, people can dump time into them, but that’s usually due to how much practice they require along with the potential for chasing higher and higher scores. NeverAwake isn’t just a great shmup with a wondrous visual style, it’s also one of the beefiest shmups I’ve ever seen. Some of the levels fumble a bit when it comes to design, and I’m still not sure how to complete certain challenges....

The Xenomorphs are usually high on the list when it comes to scary science-fiction monsters. However, that has not always been the case in the video gaming space, with varying levels of success in different genres. Now, we have one more Aliens game to look forward to, with Survios announcing a new single-player, action-horror title in collaboration with 20th Century Games. Built for console, PC, and virtual reality, the new game does not have a title just yet....

Robert Venditti has been a major part of DC’s murderer’s row of writers since the New 52 era, having steered the fate of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps for years. But as of late, Venditti has risen in the DC ranks to become one of the most innovative voices at DC Comics. Recently, Venditti and Bryan Hitch’s Hawkman has become a top of the pile read. The new series cuts through the confusion of Hawkman’s complex history and presented a genre-bending, character-driven, cinematic look at Carter Hall and the multiple lives and worlds the titular hero has inhabited over the millennia....

EA has announced that future Need for Speed games will be developed by Criterion, not Ghost Games (via GamesIndustry.biz). Ghost Games was numero uno for the franchise, producing the latest four Need for Speed games: Need for Speed: Rivals, the Need for Speed reboot, Need for Speed: Payback, and Need for Speed: Heat. “Ghost Games have helped to bring some great Need for Speed experiences to our players. Consistently delivering that at AAA levels means we need teams with diverse skills in locations where we can continually support them and bring in new team members to join....

The next installment in the Tomb Raider series, Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues to impress. Square Enix just released yet another juicy preview video showing off Lara’s enhanced climbing abilities. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is gearing up to be a truly impressive game. In the video we see Lara hanging from ropes, navigating a death trap made of spinning blades, as well as a return to using the grappling hook she had in Rise of the Tomb Raider....

Rumours supporting development of a new Sonic-themed racing game have started swirling again this week, possibly with British developer Sumo Digital back behind the wheel. Reports originally surfaced last week about a new entry in the successful Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series, with slides reportedly hailing from an internal presentation at Sumo appearing on resetera. While this immediately set tongues wagging, Sega’s Aaron Webber took to Twitter soon after to confirm nothing was in the pipeline, seemingly putting an end to any speculation....

Ninja donated $30,000 towards Lachlan’s Australian bushfires charity stream, leaving him totally speechless. Not sure if you’re aware, but Australia is literally on fire right now. The Australian bushfires have already burned an area half the size of Kansas, and they’re still going today. The #FightTheFires fundraiser was recently held on January 14th to raise funds for three charities aimed at assisting in the Australian bushfires, namely the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (to help put out the fires), The NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue, And Education Service (to help rehabilitate injured animals), and the Australian Red Cross (to help now-homeless people)....

Nintendo has announced it will purchase Dynamo Pictures, the Tokyo-based visual production company behind a series of animated Pikmin short films. The acquisition was detailed today, alongside plans to rebrand the company Nintendo Pictures Co Ltd. Once fully part of Nintendo, the studio will “focus on development of visual content utilising Nintendo IP”, documentation of the deal stated. “Dynamo Pictures is a company that plans and produces visual content,” Nintendo wrote....

Nintendo’s new online rewards programme ‘My Nintendo’ has gone live in the UK. The service’s launch follows six months after the closure of Club Nintendo, and lets users earn points to unlock a variety of rewards, including free digital games, content and discounts. There are three types of points available: Gold, Platinum and Miitomo, with different points required for different rewards. Grabbing a free digital copy of Super Mario 64 on Wii U, for example, requires 90 Gold points, while a 20% discount on Yoshi’s Woolly World requires 600 Platinum points....

Nintendo has added another trio of classic SNES and NES games to Nintendo Switch Online for subscribers of the service. First up in the latest batch is 1993 Data East platformer Congo’s Caper. Playing as a prehistoric half-man, half-monkey named Congo you’ll explore multiple worlds and fight enemies like T-Rexes, ninjas, pirates and even demons. As you do. Joining that game is 1983 NES launch title Pinball. It does what it says on the tin, but also features a Breakout-style mode with Donkey Kong-era Mario and Pauline....

Today Marvelous Entertainment released a new trailer of the upcoming multiplatform release of No More Heroes 3. Goichi “Suda51” Suda’s latest labor of love will launch Japan on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on October 6, 2022, turning its previous Nintendo Switch exclusivity into a limitation of the past. Pre-orders in the west have the release marked as October 4. The trailer provides a look at gameplay and cutscenes, including the backstory, the major enemies, the hack and slash action, and the wacky minigames we can expect....
