Dutch movie director Richard Raaphorst has claimed that a late-game boss in Resident Evil Village bears a striking resemblance to one he created for his 2013 found footage horror Frankenstein’s Army. Before we begin, a quick warning of mild spoilers for the game and the movie follow. In Frankenstein’s Army, a monster with a propeller for a head makes its appearance, before being taken down by a group of soldiers when one of them cuts its fuel line and it bursts into flames (here’s a link to a clip via IGN)....

Activision and pizza chain Papa John’s are teaming up to offer Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 players some free in-game items when they buy a special ‘Call of Duty’ bundle from their restaurants. Hungry players can get themselves an Emblem, Calling Card and Weapon Charm by ordering the bundle – which includes a Large Pizza and any Classic or Ghost Chilli Chicken side. The bundle will set you back £18....

I’ve been recommending a few graphics cards recently, but let’s face it, they’ve majorly been quite expensive….Such as the Asus TUF RTX 3080 from last week, or the RTX 3090 from CCL for £925 a few weeks back. As more of a budget card, it isn’t decided to run AAA titles at Ultra settings in 4K at HFR, but in our review, we noted it’s a respectable performer for 1080p titles, with AAA games such as Doom Eternal running at an average of 197fps or so, which sits in line with Nvidia’s last-gen RTX 2060 Super in terms of performance....

Fellow Traveller’s LudoNarraCon is back on 5th May. The digital show - which showcases story-driven video games - is back for the fourth consecutive year with “games and their developers across a range of streams, panels, fireside chats, and demos”. Hosted on Steam and running until 9th May, the show features 42 exhibiting games and 56 panellists, including appearances from guests like Lucas Pope, Meg Jayanth, and Greg Lobanov. Sony-owned developer Naughty Dog has confirmed that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Creative Director, Neil Druckmann, has been promoted to Vice President of the company. Despite the new role, he’ll still be an integral part in the production of The Last of Us: Part II. Speaking of which, the California-based outfit has named the two directors that will helm the post-apocalyptic horror sequel, with Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenau taking on the lofty role....

Kingdom Hearts 3 has received a dazzling new batch of gameplay footage following a special Premiere event in Santa Monica. This is the first proper look that anyone has got at the game in, well, a very long time. The gameplay demo focuses largely on the Toy Story level, and sees Sora and chums getting into a scrap with the Heartless in Andy’s room. And yes, Woody and Buzz Lightyear also make an appearance, showing up to help once the player ventures outside....

A new Marvel video game is currently in development at Second Dinner, a studio comprised of former Blizzard talent. The developer is currently looking at taking on more staff, with openings now available for a full-time client engineer and technical artist. No further details are available on the mystery Marvel project, although that’s a given considering it’s barely got off the ground at this point. Second Dinner also announced that it has drummed up a $30 million minority investment from NetEase, which will facilitate a move to Irvine, CA to open a new office and swell its ranks beyond the studio’s current five founders....

Ahead of the launch of the upcoming The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack on July 28, Maxis Studios and EA have announced a new update has gone live. The update boasts a collection of base game improvements as well as bug fixes and contains something for every member of the Sims community. You can find the full patch notes here. The first set of changes detailed in the patch notes target the base game and looks to improve the overall user experience....

Soul Hackers 2, the newest entry in Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei series, got a new trailer. It’s still hard to believe that the game even exists in the first place. Despite being almost a month out from its announcement, Soul Hackers 2 doesn’t feel real. But, now we have another trailer to dive into, and it certainly doesn’t pull any punches. Shin Megami Tensei is a franchise that often goes into some dark territory....

Today Square Enix released an extensive trailer in English for the upcoming JRPG Star Ocean: The Divine Force. The trailer, which was previously released in Japanese, exposes plenty of characters, including two playable ones. The first is Teo Klemraat, Laeticia’s cousin and her childhood friend. He serves as a commander of the fleet and he’s torn between the hawkish political views of his father and the more peaceful ideas of the king and Laeticia....

Less than two weeks following the release of the Nintendo Switch Lite, the company already appears to be developing yet another version of the console. The news comes as Nintendo has filed plans to develop a new version with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). As is often the case, these filings do not reveal the exact nature of the project, and so we cannot state exactly what is going to be changed....

The Division, Ubisoft’s upcoming shooter RPG, will not feature any microtransactions that allow users to fast-track their experience, Ubisoft Massive’s creative director Magnus Jansen has told VG247. “You cannot spend a little bit of money and fast-track to get better gear or pay to win or vanity items. We do not have that. The short answer is no, we don’t have microtransactions, period,” said Jansen. Ubisoft’s ambitious game will get DLC in the future, but the studio isn’t talking about it at this time....

FIFA 23 will not have the Russian team or Russian clubs, EA has confirmed to Eurogamer. Following its decision to pull Russia out of FIFA 22 in the wake of Putin’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, EA has said the Russian national team and all Russian clubs will not be in FIFA 23 from launch. “EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” a statement issued to Eurogamer reads....

Blizzard has confirmed that it will be tweaking both Mercy and Symmetra in the Overwatch 2 beta mid-cycle patch. In a blog on the official website, Blizzard said that the team has been hard at work “compiling player feedback, [and] squashing bugs”, and revealed that part of this will be revisiting Mercy’s changes in light of fan feedback. Healer Mercy received some minor nerfs when the beta test kicked off, such as her character automatically launching into the air when reaching an ally....

After months of rumors, leaks, and speculation, Blizzard finally announced Overwatch 2 at BlizzCon 2019. At the event, it was confirmed that Overwatch 2 will have a PvE story mode, which has been hotly demanded by fans since the release of the first game. While we don’t know exactly how long Overwatch 2 will take to beat, game director Jeff Kaplan has suggested that it will be a decently long experience....
