Necrobarista, a game in which you serve coffee to the recently departed, has pushed back its release date. The game had originally been slated to launch on Aug. 8, 2019. Route 59 Games announced today that they would need a little more time to brew. The developers cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the cause for the delay. The pushed-back release is a bummer for sure. However, like the famed Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo once said: “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad....

In another landmark announcement for the streaming giant, Netflix has announced they will be teaming with Microsoft Studios and The Coalition to develop and produce a live action movie adaption of the landmark game series ‘Gears of War’. This is in addition to an adult-focused animated series set in the ‘Gears of War’ universe as well. At the time of writing, there has been no further information regarding this collaboration from any of the studios involved....

Today Paradox Interactive revealed another new video dedicated to the upcoming Airports DLC for Cities Skylines. The video focuses on showcasing the public transportation options included in the DLC. You’ll start smallish with a bus hub and then grow your network with the typical airport express metro and trains, providing different capacities as your airport levels up. There’s pretty much everything you need to build up a large airport and all of its usual transit options in the real world, which is definitely promising for the potential of this DLC....

Pre-season tournaments and training are coming to FIFA 16’s Career mode, EA has announced. Pre-season tournaments will allow players to take their teams around the world to take part in elimination matches, where the prize pool for competing in said event will go straight towards their transfer budget. The more prestigious the tournament, the trickier the opponents, but the bigger the potential rewards. Training will allow managers to train up to five players per week using FIFA’s skill games to improve certain statistics....

Open world action RPG Flintlock The Siege of Dawn received a new gameplay showing at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. From developer A44, the creator of Ashen, the game features third person gun and axe combat, plus a cute familiar companion who joins in combat and can be ridden through the air. The game is set for release in 2023 on PC (Steam, Epic), Xbox consoles, PS5, and PS4. It’ll hit Game Pass too....

Witchfire, the upcoming rogue-lite shooter from the developer of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, supports Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology, a new gameplay trailer has revealed. Polish studio The Astronauts said the trailer, below, shows off Witchfire’s “rapid gunplay and new open-level design (not to be confused with fully open-world gameplay)”. DLSS 3 is Nvidia’s fancy graphics tech that uses AI to generate additional frames while keeping image quality and responsiveness up....

Donkey Crew, developer of the new nomadic MMO Last Oasis, has announced it will be taking its servers offline for one week and offering players a full refund for the game (via PC Gamer). Last week, the game entered early access on Steam, but players were encountering connection issues which intensified over the weekend. The cause is a problem with its main server that the developer had previously identified, but were attempting to fix while players attempted to play....

Oculus Rift has been given a permanent price cut, with the UK pricing now standing at £499 for the Rift, plus £99 for the Touch controllers. Hang on a minute. Didn’t the Rift launch in the UK at £499? Well, yes it did, though the crashing Pound meant the price was raised to £549 in August. There was also the £30 shipping fee to the UK. So, given the new £499 price includes UK shipping there is a small saving to be had on the Rift itself, but the big price reduction comes for those picking up the Touch controllers, which were previously priced £199....

Team 17 has released a launch trailer to celebrate the release of Overcooked! All You Can Eat, the madcap co-operative cooking party game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
