Fresh Start Worlds are coming to Aeternum next month. From November 2, New World players will be able to try out the Fresh Start Worlds servers. These servers have been heavily requested by the community, with many feeling as though the economy and the player level gap need a reset. That request is now being fulfilled. This fresh start will give existing, returning, and new players the opportunity to start over on equal footing....
A beta test for NHL 17 will go live on PS4 and Xbox One next month, EA has announced. The test will let players across North America and Europe try out the game’s EA Sports Hockey League, Hockey Ultimate Team and Online Versus modes, and will run between July 28-August 4. To get involved, all you need to do is sign up on EA’s website. It isn’t yet clear whether access will be limited, or whether the beta will eventually become open to all users....
Nintendo is preparing its upcoming NX console for manufacture ahead of its proposed March 2017 launch, director Hirokazu Shinshi has revealed. Speaking during the company’s annual general meeting, Shinshi explained that Nintendo is “now preparing to manufacture NX and hashing out details like the extent of automation”, adding that it hopes to “create the optimal production environment”. He does not reveal, however, how many units Nintendo is expecting to ship at launch....
Nintendo Japan has updated the Corporate Social Responsibility Information on its website to recognise same-sex marriage, even though it’s banned in Japanese law. A new section called Introduction of a Partnership System notes that since March 2021, employees in a domestic partnership with a same-sex partner have the same benefits as employees in an opposite-sex marriage. “We have also established that a common-law marriage between couples will be observed in the same way as a legal marriage,” it reads....
Ninty has announced that the Switch has flogged 32.27 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2018. The console managed to shift 14.49 million units during the period April – December, with total software sales to date reaching 163.61 million. Switch launched in March 2017, and overtook PlayStation 4 to become the best-selling console of 2018 in the US. So yeah, it’s fair to say the Big N isn’t doing too bad at the moment....
Nintendo has a new games platform coming, but won’t be talking about this at E3. Square Enix has pinned a June 7 release date to the PC version of Octopath Traveler, with the game arriving digitally via Steam. Octopath Traveler was previously released on Nintendo Switch back in 2018, and takes the form of a turn-based RPG developed by Square Enix in collaboration with Acquire. Today Bandai Namco released a brief video related to its upcoming anime-inspired JRPG One Piece Odyssey.
