According to the NPD’s report for the month of April 2019, NetherRealm fighter Mortal Kombat 11 and PlayStation exclusive Days Gone dominated sales in the U.S. over the aforementioned period (via Gamestop). The former was the month’s top seller and, by extension, became 2019’s second-best seller, only behind Kingdom Hearts 3. MK 11 is also the first third-party game to lead Nintendo Switch sales for a month since Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle released in September of 2017....

Veteran brawler Shang Tsung is coming to Mortal Kombat 11 as a downloadable character, developer NetherRealm has announced. The best bit? His likeness is based on actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played the character in the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie. In addition to being a playable character, the evil sorcerer will feature in the Krypt as a narrator and guide. Shang Tsung is just one of six fighters who will be available as part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack, which will feature as part of the game’s Premium and Kollector’s Editions....

Following Nvidia’s reveal of the GeForce RTX 3000 Series, MSI announced its own lineup of custom-cooled GPUs. MSI will offer two main product series of each Nvidia card in its first wave of products. The company named the return of the Gaming and Ventus lines, but there will be premium overclocked versions of the Ventus cards, too. The company plans to reveal more details during its livestream on September 2 @ 10 AM ET....

When you think of the 40K universe, it’s hard to not think of the space marines. Multiple games set inside the world of Warhammer: 40K have focused on those hulking, rage-filled characters. However, a new game that seems to have been leaked on the Windows Store is moving away from the armor-clad warriors. Necromunda: Hired Gun, a new title from Focus Home Interactive and Streum On Studio, appeared on the store with a release date of June 1, 2021....

Annapurna’s Interactive Showcase revealed a gameplay trailer for Neon White today, showcasing some of its parkour heavy gameplay. The game is a mixture between a platformer and a first-person shooter, with one primary goal in each hand-crafted level: speed. From the creator of Donut County, the game is described as a “speedrunning FPS,” meaning the entire game is built around clearing levels as fast as possible. Each level is also designed for replayability, with bonus shortcuts and collectibles unlocked as you play the game....

Netflix hit the 75 million subscriber milestone on January 1, narrowly missing the figure in its year-end which capped out at 74.76 million, CEO Reed Hastings and CFO David Wells said in an open letter to investors. “Our quarter‐end 74.76 million members put us at over 17 million net additions for the year, showing how much the world is embracing Internet TV,” the pair stated. The San Diego Comic-Con 2019 is in full swing, and the panel for The Witcher Netflix series took place this afternoon. The Netflix Twitter account @NXOnNetflix started a thread with some comic book panels to present the panel in the spirit of Comic-Con. The first panel features the main cast – Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra – as well as showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich. The other panels feature the lead characters – Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer – with short descriptions of themselves and their motivations....

Every few days Borderlands 3 adds a new Shift Code to the pile, giving players a new key for the Gold Chest on the Sanctuary ship. At this point, most Borderlands 3 players have come to expect a Shift Code release, to the point that developer Gearbox Software has to explain that preface any announcement with a disclaimer that no Shift Code is on the way. Luckily, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has been very generous in the weeks after the launch of Borderlands 3, revealing a SHIFT Code every few days....

Bandai Namco has released a new preview for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. This time around, the focus is on Base Vegeta, Majin Vegeta, and Majin Buu. Base Vegeta doesn’t see much screen time, only showing up at the beginning of the preview as a static image with a caption. The caption mentions the Saiyan race’s Great Ape transformation, and the tweet text reads that Vegeta will use the form to “blow his opponents away” when he feels the need....

In a couple of months from now, Capcom’s long-awaited remake of the 1999 classic survival horror game Resident Evil 3 will be released on consoles and the PC. Immediately after the game’s announcement at last year’s State of Play presentation, Capcom confirmed that players who pre-purchase the game will receive a bonus DLC pack that will allow them to swap Jill and Carlos’ default costumes to their counterparts from the original game....

Modern Warfare 2’s single and multiplayer modes are some of the most enjoyable experiences in the realm of first-person shooters. The return of Spec Ops missions in MW2 are a particularly welcome inclusion to this year’s selection of gripping scenarios. Initially, there had only been three missions on offer for this year’s tactical co-op mode. But based on Call of Duty’s blog post and with the launch of Season 1, a new action-packed mission has now been included into its current list of options....

Epic Games has announced the new Icon Series, which will bring a bunch of skins based on celebrities to the hit battle royale. Epic Games describes the Icon Series as a collaboration of gaming, film, music, and fashion. The goal of each celebrity skin is to bring the artistic vision, personality, and attitude of top creators to Fortnite....

A new fan made trailer imagines what Rare’s unreleased Banjo-Threeie could have been on the Nintendo 64 (but with vastly-improved graphics). The trailer by Project Dream (spotted by TheGamer), proudly proclaims “the adventure continues!” This fan made threequel is set 22 years after the events of Banjo-Tooie and the defeat of Gruntilda. And, for a pretty decent period of time, everything seemed to be calm and collected for our heroes....

Here at Game Rant, we love to see games push the envelope and try something different. No More Heroes was one of those games. Not only did it include an extremely over-the-top, hilarious story, but it also brought some much-needed violence to the Wii platform. This garnered it a very loyal fan following. As such, fans rejoiced when it was announced that there would be a sequel called, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle....

The graphics card hasn’t even been out for a month, but the crypto mining limiter in the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 has already been beat. The irony of it all is Nvidia is the one to offer the hack on the card. The company recently released a new driver for the GeForce RTX 3060 which allows the limiter to be shut down quite easily. In fact, it’s so easy that a caveman can do it (bad joke, I know)....

We didn’t see this one coming: renowned role-playing game developer Obsidian is releasing a brand new game called Pentiment this November on Xbox consoles, PC and the cloud. It’s a narrative-focused murder mystery set in medieval times, and the action takes place on the pages of an era-appropriate book. It certainly looks different to everything else out there. The game is led by Obsidian star director Josh Sawyer (Fallout: new Vegas, Pillars of Eternity) and is apparently an idea he pitched years and years ago at Black Isle Studios, according to IGN, which interviewed Sawyer about his new game....

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD is a game that clearly has a lot of good ideas and design polish put into it, but it suffers from its age too much to really shine. The original Stranger’s Wrath launched in 2005 to critical acclaim, while updated versions have been released for various consoles including the PS3, Vita and PC over the years since. The HD version is now on the Switch with updated controls, but the game feels remarkably similar to its original form....
