Criterion Games had a great thing going with the Burnout series. And then EA put them on Need For Speed starting with Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. Eventually, the studio splintered into two, with most of the staff going over to start Ghost Games, which continued to work on the series until last year when it was renamed and turned into an engineering support studio. A truly depressing end for what was once arcade racing’s most promising developer....

Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive, a follow-up, but more of a spiritual successor to Naruto Shippuden Legends: Akatsuki Rising, will let players get a taste of what Monster Hunter fans have been enjoying for years. This new entry into the Naruto series looks like it’s going to try something new and allow players to form a four-man party of ninjas, all the better to hunt down deadly creatures. This move was a long time coming, as this type of gameplay has been seen in the very successful Monster Hunter games from Capcom....

A brand new Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer trailer was shown off during Sony’s E3 2017 presser. In the trailer below you can get a taste of some of the maps you’ll be battling it out on later this year. Call of Duty is out November 3.

Bandai Namco has released a new accolades trailer to celebrate the successful launch of Little Nightmares, and the very end has a little glimpse of what looks like possible DLC. Described as ‘the future of Little Nightmares’ by Bandai Namco, the trailer shows a few seconds of a little boy with a mop of dark hair, and it looks like he’s about to platform across some water. It seems a bit early for Tarsier studios to be teasing Little Nightmares 2, so our money is on this being some species of DLC....

As the name Combat Unleashed suggests, the trailer shows different ways to do battle and defeat enemies in New World. The game looks polished from what the trailer reveals, and there appears to be plenty of unique enemies to slay. New World was first announced back in 2016, which seems like forever ago. That could be due to the scope of the game or a sign of development woes. The game was originally scheduled for a May release, but it suffered from delays that were apparently COVID related....

Developed by Shift Up, NIKKE: Goddess of Victory is a new mobile game that’s set to release later this year, or so we think. The game was announced months ago, it had a closed beta test, but there’s still no word on when exactly it’ll be coming out. However, for those wanting to get a taste of the gameplay and its daily routines, Shift Up has just announced that registration for the upcoming Global Closed Beta Test is now open, and you can sign up at the game’s official website....

Mixer’s new streaming icon, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, is first to stream Gears 5 – the upcoming installment in the Gears of War series. The game will release to the public on September 10th, just one week from today, as the sixth entry in the saga. Ninja has stated that he plans to only play a some of the campaign, as he doesn’t want to spoil too much for players before they can get their hands on a copy....

E3 2023 will not include a showfloor presence by Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft, a new report has claimed. IGN states that all three of the industry’s console makers will skip the event, putting a significant dampener on the show’s long-awaited return. E3’s annual showcase, held in June at the Los Angeles Convention Center, has long been the video game industry’s key marketing drumbeat. But recent years have seen major companies turn elsewhere due to reported disagreements with its owner, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), even before Covid stopped the show from running altogether....

Hello Games has today announced another new update to intersellar exploration game No Man’s Sky. Entitled No Man’s Sky Beyond, it’ll be free to all players and will include something that the team is dubbing ‘No Man’s Sky Online’. The announcement is light on specifics, but says that No Man’s Sky Online will be ‘a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together....

No More Heroes 3 is the newest numbered entry into the series in 10 years. The game, announced earlier this year at Nintendo’s E3 2019 showcase, was first introduced through a red-haring trailer showcasing a worn-down, haggard looking man in a bath robe and boxer shorts. Only halfway through the trailer do we finally see that this man is none other than the game’s hero, Travis Touchdown. During the pre-show for The Game Awards, one of the earlier world premiers showcased the classic Nintendo Switch logo clicking into place....

Publisher Microids and developer Oddworld Inhabitants have announced that 2021 action platformer Oddworld Soulstorm is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version is getting the moniker of an ‘Oddtimized Edition’. This edition promises the same gameplay found in the original releases on PlayStation, Xbox and PC but will also take advantage of the Switch’s unique features. However, the announcement didn’t reveal exactly what form these will take just yet. It does sound at least like it’ll get the additions of the Enhanced Edition, which arrived a few months later....

Riot Games is taking a firm stance on toxicity and unsportsmanlike conduct in Valorant. This ranges from players being disrespectful in chat, to cheaters abusing gameplay, and now, to offensive gamertags. Valorant informed players via Twitter that a respectful environment is one of its top priorities and there’s no place in the game for offensive player names. From now on, any player that is deemed to have an offensive Valorant player name will be forced to change their Riot ID the next time they log in to the game....

In the world of hostile planet Enoch, while everything around is set on killing you. Mankind was devastated when they were hit by Anomaly, a mysterious phenomenon in Enoch. This triggered a massive energy storm that converted humans to Altered and stranded them by destroying their ships and the technology they brought with them. Even though you lost all the technology to go escape the planet or go to other continents, at least we have the Travel Flags to teleport wherever we want in Enoch, but with a catch....

Blizzard Entertainment released a new video about the new character named Sojourn that will be playable in the Overwatch 2 beta. We hear from lead hero designer Geoff Goodman and narrative designer Miranda Moyeras they explain the origin of Sojourn and how she plays. Specifically, her playstyle revolves around her railgun (that doesn’t always act as a railgun for balancing reasons) and her cybernetic enhancements, which allow for fast powerslides followed by high jumps....

For long time fans of competitive fighting games, SonicFox comes across as a player from a different era. The Mortal Kombat 11 and Dragonball FighterZ specialist established his dominance in MK11 with an unlikely run that was one step away from legendary by almost winning NEC 19 last weekend with one of the worst characters in the game. SonicFox boasted that he would not only main the lowly Kollector for the tournament, but was just moments away from winning it with him, too....

A modder has released a HD texture pack for Batman: Arkham City, following six years’ worth of development. Arkham City was first released in 2011, and has since been remastered for PS4 and Xbox One in the Batman: Return to Arkham collection. Digital Foundry called this release a “mixed bag”, and stated they thought the original PC release was the “definitive” release. But the PC version of Arkham City has not had a remastered edition - something which modder GPUnity set out to change....

Mojang has been renamed Mojang Studios, in order to celebrate the 11th anniversary of Minecraft and to recognise the studios that comprise the company (via Gematsu). “Why would we need a new name and logo in the first place? Well, why not?” said Thomas Wiborgh, head of creative communications at Mojang Studios. “Humans like to reinvent themselves from time to time, so it’s only right that we extend the same courtesy to a company that’s been around for over a decade....

Monster Hunter: World will be receiving fresh clobber in the form of Street Fighter V-themed armour based on Ryu and Sakura (via PST). The outfits will be available to craft at the game’s Smithy, though you won’t be able to mix and match as they’re full armour sets, so keep that in mind. The new outfits can be equipped on both a male or female character, and also come packing with matching voice overs to make you sound like the Street Fighter legends....

Today sees the console launch of Monster Hunter Rise – with the latest entry in Capcom’s long running series making its way to the newest consoles for the first time. The game originally launched on the Nintendo Switch back in 2021 (and PC a year later), but now offers extra features on this new release – including 4K support, 3D audio and more.
