There is a lot of thirst in a galaxy far, far away – and I don’t mean the thirst for power (or for Poe Dameron). Rather, the Star Wars saga feature a fair number of scenes set in cantinas, or involves drinks of some sort. Even R2-D2 got into the act by posing as a traveling bartender on Jabba’s sail barge. So it should come as no surprise that Oga’s Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu (which also happens to exist in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, in Orlando) is a hub of activity, and libations....

Over the past few years, the OlliOlli series has become one of my favorite comfort titles on the Nintendo Switch. The game’s simple but clever side-scrolling skateboarding has had me saying “just one more level” on many a night. So when OlliOlli World was announced back in April 2021, I was simultaneously excited and uneasy. Would the game still be the same with a switch to 2.5D? Does the focus on the story take away from the gameplay loop?...

With the fifth season of Cobra Kai poised to crane kick its way to Netflix on later this year, it’s safe to say that excitement is reaching fever pitch for the dojo-battling action-comedy series. Hopefully, questions will be answered, butts will be kicked, and Sensei Johnny Lawrence – with his new partner in crime, Daniel LaRusso – will deliver a handful of his signature “learning opportunities” to the ramshackle crew of nerds and outsiders....

News about a Metal Gear Solid movie stretches all the way back to 2012, when the project was officially announced. In 2014, the project picked up director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who has since directed Kong: Skull Island. Now, the mysterious film seems to have landed an actor for the lead role. Oscar Isaac, who played Poe Dameron in recent Star Wars films, will play Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie....

Outbuddies, a new game being developed by Julian Laufer and published by Headup Games, was announced today. It is a 2D, retro-styled sidescroller that takes place at the bottom of the sea. In a truly Super Metroid fashion, new gadgets will need to be unlocked to progress further in the game. Outbuddies will even support local co-op play! You can see the game’s announcement trailer below. While Outbuddies was just announced, it has been in the works by Julian Laufer since 2013....

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said he and his team are not focussed on catching up with Sony’s sales figures, but rather concentrating on Xbox’s current customer base. In an interview with Eurogamer, Spencer was asked about whether or not he feels Xbox will catch up with Sony, which has enjoyed a strong start to the new console generation and sits comfortably ahead of its rivals. “I honestly don’t goal the team on how many units Sony sells....

When Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes arrived last year on the Nintendo DS, it was a revelation. Achieving high ratings across the board, it was a game that proved that new ideas and brilliant execution were the key to a great RPG on the DS – not merely touch based gimmicks. With its 30 hour long campaign, as well as an engrossing story and head-scratching puzzle-based gameplay mechanics, it’s a game that would definitely qualify as one of my favorites on the platform....

The latest mobile phone AR game to hit the scene in Japan has stormed out of the gates, as Dragon Quest Walk has already accrued over five million downloads during its first week of release. Dragon Quest Walk is similar to Pokémon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, as the player has to manually walk to locations in real life and use their phone to play the game. The player creates their own character in Dragon Quest Walk and uses them to fight monsters and complete quests, in a similar manner to the mainline Dragon Quest series....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has a long list of game modes for you to jump into. There is the classic playlist that fans know and love, to the introduction of DMZ, there’s something for everyone. While data miners have been hard at work searching for clues on what the devs are getting up to, some game icons have reportedly been found. The latest Modern Warfare 2 leak points towards Gun Game and Gunfight possibly joining the rotation....

Infinity Ward has shared new details on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Gunsmith, dubbed “Gunsmith 2.0.” Gunsmith was first introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) as a replacement of the attachment system used in preceding titles, and it’s been used in every game since. The system allows players to customise their weapons in greater detail, with multiple attachments, optics and of course, skins. Gunsmith 2.0 refines this system, with a brand-new interface, and a new weapon system to customise: receivers....

Lagombi is one of the bosses in Monster Hunter Rise which you will be quested to beat. The game describes it as “A fanged beast whose warm pelt and thick layers of fat help it survive in cold climates. It has exceptional hearing as well. It can glide swiftly on ice to sneak up on prey.” To the uninitiated, the Lagombi looks like a demon bunny rabbit from someone’s nightmare, and boy oh boy does it live up to that narrative....

With the arrival of Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion looming, Capcom has returned with a new livestream showcasing more of the features players can expect if they decide to make a purchase on 30th June. Previous reveals have confirmed the likes of a new, more challenging Master Rank, new monsters, a new area in the form of The Citadel - which promises diverse biomes, including lush forests, icy mountains, and foggy swampland, with a huge ruined castle as its centrepiece - and a new hub area in the bustling port town of Elgado Outpost....

Borderlands 3 lead writers Danny Homan and Sam Winkler divulged that Borderlands 4 might be a possibility, in an exclusive interview with Dualshockers. Although the third game promises to take players beyond Pandora, characters from the previous games have made an appearance across the new planetary destinations. Borderlands has had sequels, pre-sequels, and spin-offs, but three is a magic number. When queried if Borderlands 3 is the third and final game in the series, Homan stated that, ‘there is always room for more story in Borderlands....

After launching the T-800 last month, fans have turned their attention to the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character, Sindel. This long-time fan favorite character was last playable in Mortal Kombat 9, so many players are curious to see how she’s evolved since then. Ed Boon continues to tease her return with new images and screenshots, and his latest reveal finally gives players a short glimpse of her in game....

It looks like the original trilogy of Mortal Kombat games is due to make a comeback on modern consoles, as well as entering the online realm, with IGN reporting that PEGI (a rating board that decides on age-based guidelines for game releases in Europe) has accidentally let the news slip out. An entry titled “Mortal Kombat Kollection Online” was apparently added to the PEGI rating database at this link, although it looks like PEGI has now managed to take the listing down....

30XX is a sequel to Batterystaple Games’ best-selling rogue-like 20XX. Much like its predecessor, 30XX will blend the gameplay of action platformers like Mega Man X with the replayability of modern roguelike games such as Dead Cells. It’s said to be coming in the year 30XX, but we’ve been assured it’s much more likely to arrive in 2021. Check out the 30XX reveal trailer below to get a taste of the game’s gameplay....

Nvidia has released a new trailer for PES 2018 that shows off the visual enhancements that have been made to this year’s PC version of the game. The most standout thing barring the fantastic visuals? For the first time in years the PC version doesn’t look like it’ll be pants. The trailer is more of a demo for the Nvidia Ansel capture technology than it is a gameplay trailer showing off actual in-game features....

Sony has revealed much of the new PlayStation Plus, including some of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 lineups. Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut, on PS4 and PS5; Death Stranding and Death Stranding Director’s Cut, on PS4 and PS5; Demon’s Souls on PS5; Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS4 and PS5; and Returnal on PS5. These are some of the highlights that will be available to people as part of the Xbox Game Pass-style middle tier....

Sony’s State of Play saw a decent amount of content this Tuesday, ranging from footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s campaign to another glimpse at The Last of Us: Part II.
