With the release of the Worldslayer expansion, several new features, campaigns, and bosses have been added into Outriders. As the expansion also features a new campaign, it features a challenging endgame boss. Upon your journey to save Enoch, you will encounter Commander Ereshkigal at the end of the campaign. And trust me, it won’t be an easy feat. It will be the most challenging boss fights out of them all. Not to worry, here’s our guide on how to beat Commander Ereshkigal in Outriders Worldslayer....

Microsoft has filed suit against the British company, Datel, whose business largely consists of producing gaming peripherals. Two controllers in particular, the ‘Wildfire’ and the ‘Turbofire’ (pictured above) have been the subject of Microsoft’s lawsuit for patent infringement, though Microsoft has stated that Datel has infringed on six total Microsoft patents that were filed in 2006. And yes, at first glance, the controller looks awfully similar to the official Xbox 360 controller, specifically the front button layout and control stick design....

Activision has announced that Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has become the biggest launch in history across all forms of entertainment, with estimated sell-through sales of $310 million in North America and the UK alone in the first 24 hours. In its first day the game sold approximately 4.7 million copies in North America and the UK, according to internal Activision estimates. “The Call of Duty franchise has become a cultural phenomenon showing the power of video games as an entertainment medium,” said Mike Griffith, CEO, Activision Publishing, Inc....

Gizmo isn’t the only thing shaking up the latest MultiVersus patch. With this new playable character comes an update to MultiVersus‘ hitbox/hurtbox systems. This overhaul changes the way your attacks register on opponents, allowing your attacks to land more accurately land. Previously, character hitboxes were not actually tied to their moves. These changes should make the game feel more responsive when playing, especially if you’ve ever wondered why an attack didn’t land… Or maybe did land?...

More and more video game franchises seem to be crossing the divide into film and live-action territory this year thanks to the successes of The Witcher Netflix series — and perhaps the Sonic the Hedgehog film. Historically speaking, film adaptations have not done well due to poor direction, limited budgets, bad acting, and the limitations of CGI. Larger studios and investors are beginning to show more interest, though. Following on from the huge success of Pokémon go, The Pokémon Company has released Magikarp Jump. It’s now available on iOs and Android, after a trial period in a few select regions. In Magikarp Jump you train an adorable and mostly useless fish to make it really good at jumping. 

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is part of a “cinematic universe”, according to one of the film’s producers. In production notes alongside the new release, producer Toby Ascher noted the first film was just the start. “We’re creating a Sonic cinematic universe, so we knew we were going to add characters, like Tails and Knuckles; new to the films but beloved by gamers all over the world,” he said. New Super Lucky’s Tale is an improved version of the game that came out a few years ago. More specifically, it’s a port of the improved Switch version that re-did the visuals, changed levels and added new ones, and made a host of other similar changes. I love 3D platformers, and while this game may not break any new ground, it’s a ton of fun and bolsters a surprising amount of variety within its brisk, yet satisfactory length....

Hair is surprisingly difficult to make for video game developers, but an animation demo made in Unreal Engine 4 released last week shows how far the industry’s tech has come toward getting it right, and highlights the lifelike visuals that the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, along with modern PCs, could bring to the table very soon. With the next generation of consoles on the way and a rapidly evolving graphics card market on PC, big changes are on the way for the way future titles will be made to take advantage of the latest and greatest hardware....

Despite having a bit of a disappointing sequel, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a JRPG that has already established itself as a classic in the genre. The game’s breathtaking style, touching story, and intuitive combat system all helped make it a worldwide major hit when it launched nearly a decade ago. With all that in mind, it’s no surprise that so many new and old RPG fans are excited to revisit the original Ni no Kuni on modern consoles and PCs....

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is a mobile MMO, based on the world of established in the main games, and is out on May 25th. The game has been available in Japan since June of last year, and pre-registration is now available around the world. It is out on ioS, Android, and PC, and it supports cross-play across all three platforms. The Borderlands franchise has always been known for including a fair amount of crude humor within its games, and the recently released Borderlands 3 seems to be taking that to another level, as players can hear their character let out a chuckle whenever they deal exactly 69 damage. Reddit user, Brunky89890 made the discovery before posting the clip online and giving everyone who scrolled past the Borderlands 3 subreddit a good laugh....

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is arguably the most famous video game personality out there at the moment, with the popular Fortnite streamer even appearing on the cover of ESPN Magazine at one point. However, his Twitter account was recently hacked, leading to the hacker asking Turner “Tfue” Tenney, another popular eSports player and streamer, to fight. Tfue responded with some harsh words for Ninja, leading to some drama between the two....

Nintendo launched the Switch in China this week leading the company’s stock to hit an almost two-year high. Nintendo continues to enjoy a lot of success via the Switch. The console’s lifetime sales have already hit the 40 million mark which means it has sold more units than the GameCube and the Nintendo 64. Should it carry on in the same vein, then at some point pretty soon the Switch will leave the SNES eating its dust too....

A “frankly insane” number of people were playing No Man’s Sky within 15 minutes of the game’s launch on Steam on Friday evening, creator Sean Murray posted on Twitter last week. “Bracing for impact on PC. We’ll do our best to keep servers online. Be aware there is a lot of you,” Tweeted Murray ahead of launch. “WAIT! I’ve changed my mind!” “A frankly insane amount of people have just tried to run No Man’s Sky for the first time within 15 minutes of it releasing,” he added....

No Man’s Sky was an ambitious undertaking to begin with, but its developers claim that the upcoming chapter, Beyond, is the “Most Ambitious Chapter So Far.” Releasing on August 14th, Beyond will bring two massive changes to the world of No Man’s Sky. The first is VR support, a feature that only a small subset of players will probably ever use, but a fascinating one nonetheless. Early indication is that this is a match made in heaven....

Avalanche Studios, the developer behind Just Cause 3 and the upcoming Rage 2, has been snapped up by Danish distribution outfit Nordisk Film. Crucially, Avalanche has revealed that it will remain ‘creatively independent’ following the ‘historic’ $103 million deal, with co-founders Christofer Sundberg and Linus Blomberg remaining at the company. Things will continue to tick along pretty much as normal, albeit with Nordisk chief Mikkel Weider joining the board and Avalanche having gained additional financial stability....
