Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for Nintendo 3DS has become the first game in the series to ship over 1 million units across Europe and North America combined, Capcom has announced. The figure includes copies shipped to stores and sales made digitally across the eShop. The publisher says it used many activities to drive interest in the game, including downloads of trial games for first-time users and the regular release of free downloadable content....

Displaying behavior akin to a sociopath, popular Twitch variety streamer “MOONMOON” murdered his way through a new VR entry – The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. After messing with the controls for the game and completing the tutorial, he ran into a friendly non-player character. Moon’s greeting, however, was certainly not what the character was expecting. After brutally murdering the poor fellow (and multiple of his replacement clones afterwards) – Moon continued through the game, opting for violence over any form of dialogue with other potential NPCs....

As a way to say “thank you” to the many players playing Mortal Kombat 11, the developer has sent a thank-you gift across nearly every platform on which the game is available. As of now, the Nintendo Switch is also among those who can access the gift in the most recent patch that aims to also bring various balance changes and quality of life improvements. Players on the Switch will have until the 20th of May to log onto the game and claim the gift bundle, which gives a total of 500,000 Koins, 500 Hearts, 1,000 Time Chyrstals, and 1,000 Souls....

NetherRealm Studios is celebrating the fact that Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is out today with a brand new launch trailer showcasing all the additions this latest version of the bloody brawler brings as well as marking the game’s official upgrade release on next-gen consoles. The Ultimate edition includes all 37 of the games Kombatants, including 25 from the original base game, the six fighters included in Kombat Pack 1 (Shang Tsung, The Terminator, Nightwolf, Sindel, The Joker and Spawn) the three included in the game’s Aftermath expansion (Sheeva, Fujin and Robocop) and the three new characters (Rain, Mileena and Rambo) from Kombat Pack 2....

Japanese manufacturer Kotobukiya is continuing its mission to bring back the old but gold Muv-Luv Alternative plastic model kits. This time around, two more model kits have been made available for pre-order. The first is a non-scale full option Type-94 Shiranui in the original Izumi Valkyrie colors lets you reproduce all the roles and armament types. It’s priced at 8,250 yen (which roughly translates into $60) and it will be released in Japan in November 2022....

The TV adaptation of Myst, the classic puzzle game from the late ‘90s, has named Ashley Edward Miller as its showrunner and writer for the show’s pilot episode (via games radar). Miller is a screenwriter and producer who got his first gig with the sci-fi series, Andromeda. Springing from his success in the early noughties, he has also written the screenplay for Agent Cody Banks, Thor, X-Men: First Class, and contributed to shows such as The Twilight Zone, Fringe, and Black Sails....

In the latest trailer for The Last of Us Part 2, Ellie sings a cover of True Faith by New Order, which was inspired by artist Lotte Kestner’s interpretation of the original song (via GameSpot). Initially, the trailer did not credit Kestner for her work, which upset the singer. “Hey, are you aware that the True Faith cover you put in your Last of Us 2 trailer is a replica of my cover that came out 10 years ago?...

Nintendo has announced that it will release official NES controllers for the Switch, so you’ll be able to play Super Mario Bros. 3 just as it was originally intended. Well, sort of. The controllers have been slightly modified for their Switch debut, since they’re now wireless. Hooray! Speaking during its Direct event last night, the company revealed that the NES pads will be released on September 19, priced at £49.99 for a pair....

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its live action film based on the acclaimed Death Note anime and manga franchise. “What if you had the power to decide who lives and who dies?” reads the trailer’s blurb. “We suggest you obey the rules. Based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die....

Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy started today, and players are already discovering some of its new Exotics. There’s one Exotic Armor piece each for the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, and then two Exotic Weapons – one of which hasn’t released yet. Since the Exotic Auto Rifle Tommy’s Matchbook is the poster Exotic of Season 10, it’ll kick things off. Players can earn this weapon by achieving Seasonal Rank 35 or by purchasing the Season 10 Pass, in which case they’ll have access to it immediately....

Sony Pictures has released the second full trailer for its Ghostbusters reboot ahead of its arrival in cinemas on July 16. Blizzard has made further changes to its Overwatch 2 hero roster in another beta mid-cycle patch. Six more heroes have had their abilities tweaked in a bid to rebalance the game ahead of its formal release, including Doomfist, Junker Queen, Orisa, Sojourn, Symmetra, and Zenyatta. Doomfist’s changes include minimum damage required to empower Rocket Punch reduced from 100 to 90 damage, and the movement speed penalty while blocking reduced from 50 to 35 per cent....

Today Vaulted Sky Games and Coffee Stain Publishing released a brand new gameplay trailer of Midnight Ghost Hunt.
