Activision has said it will reveal the “groundbreaking innovations” it is building for new Call of Duty Warzone later this year. At the end of Nintendo’s Arms-themed Nintendo Direct last night, Splatoon fans got a bit of a treat in a new trailer showcasing the brand new single-player mode in Splatoon 2. ‘Callie—of Squid Sisters fame—has gone missing and it’s up to you, with the help of Marie, to search for Callie and the Great Zapfish while battling against the Octarian army,’ reads the official Nintendo blurb. ‘Use different weapons in single-player mode to overcome obstacles, defeat enemies and take down towering bosses – weapons like the Roller, Slosher, Splatling, or the new Dualies....

Riot Games has today finally revealed the major content coming next week in Episode 5, Act 1, and it is indeed the new map that was expected. Called Pearl, the map is set in an alternate dimension called Omega Earth where climate change has flooded Portugal and its cities are now underwater protected by a geo-dome. The map was unveiled today with a spectacular trailer showcasing its design. Unlike many of Valorant’s maps, Pearl doesn’t really feature any particular gimmick mechanics, such as teleporters, ziplines, or doors....

Nintendo’s Belgium arm has announced that it is to remove both Animal Crossing Pocket Camp and Fire Emblem Heroes in the country, in response to ongoing investigations in the country on in-game transactions and loot boxes in respect to Belgium’s gambling laws. Posting on Twitter and via a statement on the Nintendo of Belgium website (and translated by Eurogamer), the company said the games will be removed from service and no longer available to download from August 27....

Sony Santa Monica has “no plans” to bring any other God of War titles to PS4, the studio has said following last week’s reveal of God of War 3 Remastered. Nvidia is reportedly planning to introduce two new GPU architectures to its lineup of RTX 4000 Series cards. Making use of TSMC’s N5 process technology, these new architectures will net significant performance boosts in comparison to the current node used for the RTX 3000 Series lineup.
