Electronic Arts has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront II will be adding Jedi legend Obi-Wan Kenobi on November 28. Obi-Wan will be taking on his youthful appearance from the Star Wars prequel trilogy, so in other words he’ll look like Ewan McGregor rather than Sir Alec Guinness. Kenobi wields his trademark blue lightsaber, and is a master of defensive combat; his blocking skills outpace any other Jedi in Battlefront II....
Ellen Raskin was a children’s author whose complex, playful novels are enormously rewarding for adults as well as kids. Sadly, she only wrote four of them - four puzzle-mysteries which I return to often, because they are always revealing new aspects, new elements. (I say sadly, but I only half mean it - we are so lucky to get those four novels.)
Private Division, the publisher of upcoming skater sequel OlliOlli World, has announced it’s acquired series development team Roll7. A statement from the company announced the deal earlier today, although it did not disclose terms. Both parties are currently working on the new, open world instalment, but also “additional unannounced projects in development”. Private Division will support (and presumably publish) these future projects. There are, of course, quotes from both parties on the move....

Microsoft’s corporate chat tool Teams is getting a range of casual games to aid team building, including Solitaire, Minesweeper, Wordament and IceBreakers. The four game additions are designed to be played in multiplayer groups within your Teams calls, in order to spark some light entertainment and office rivalry before diving into your latest Powerpoint deck. It’s part of an initiative which Microsoft has dubbed Games for Work, and is designed to show results and highlight winners of groups of players - from two people up to 250....

If Miyamoto had been listened to during the development GoldenEye 007 on N64, the shooter would have had a very different take on death, with all enemies actually appearing alive and well at the end of the game. The revelation came during a GameCity talk from GoldenEye co-designer Martin Hollis, who also revealed that the the ground-breaking FPS was originally designed to feature graphic violence. “Bond is a violent franchise and making that fit with Nintendo, which is very much family-friendly, was a challenge,” Hollis said....

Monster Hunter X, a new title in the 32 million selling franchise, will launch this winter in Japan for Nintendo 3DS to mark to the tenth anniversary of the series, Capcom has announced. The new game promises all-new hunting possibilities, built on the same core gameplay and world of past titles. New elements include Hunting Styles, which Capcom says will allow players to enjoy greater personalization when they hunt. Players will also be able to revisit locations from other titles in the series and come across four main monsters....
