As of late, I’ve been rolling my eyes when new action rogue-lites come out. Another 2D game where you go through the same old motions to eventually be victorious on a run. Despite my fatigue, I took one look at Orbital Bullet and my eyes lit up. This game holds a lot of promise, and I think it’s going to be something quite special. But, since it’s in Early Access and is looking to stay that way for the next year or so, the question stands: is Orbital Bullet worth it?...

Mighty No.9, the crowd-funded side-scrolling action title from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, will now launch in the UK on February 12, 2016, publisher Deep Silver and developer Comcept have announced. The new release date follows last month’s confirmation of the delay when the developer said it would have to push back the release due to “bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release”....

The release of Monster Hunter Rise’s large expansion Sunbreak is coming close and Capcom is ramping up promotion in Japan. The developer is airing a series of TV commercials starring popular local actor Yuki Yamada, made famous by his debut role in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and then star of many shows and films including High & Low and Tokyo Revengers. The commercials also feature comedian ZAZY, and they’re wacky. They’re set in a filming set where Yamada-san is so excited to play Sunbreak that he shouts the names of various monsters....

Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra has announced he is to leave the Uncharted and Last of Us studio on April 3, in order to focus on his family and to pursue personal ambitions and projects. “I never thought I would be saying something this difficult so soon – after fifteen years here, I am announcing my departure from Naughty Dog. My last day will be on April 3, 2017,” Balestra wrote in a blog post....

Naughty Dog threw away 8 months’ worth of work on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End after creative director Amy Hennig left the company, Nolan North has revealed. North, who plays lead character Nathan Drake, discussed the changes made to the game during a panel at Metrocon, where he explained that Hennig’s work was scrapped after Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley were brought in to take over development. “I can’t really say too much about that, but I will,” he said....

Today Electronic Arts and Criterion released new assets of their upcoming racing game Need for Speed Unbound. We get to see four clips and two screenshots focusing on the car customization options provided by the game. To be specific, the game features over 10,000 customization options for its cars including wraps, rims, cutaways, and more. The first clip showcases the new rim options for your wheels, including plenty of different designs and shapes....

Rejoice all you Xenomorph fans out there! A new Alien movie is in the works, and it’s all set to be directed by acclaimed horror filmmaker, Fede Alvarez. The intel comes by way of a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, which also rubber-stamped the official involvement of original award-winning director, Ridley Scott, who is allegedly on-board as a producer. Nintendo has offered a few more details on next week’s Nintendo Switch Presentation, which will be broadcast live from Japan at 4am GMT on Friday, January 13. Promising “new Nintendo Switch details you won’t want to miss”, the live presentation will be in Japanese, with an English voiceover. In addition, key announcements will be published in the official Nintendo UK Twitter account.
