Attention all cat owners and current Minecraft players, there is a new contest you might want want to check out. Minecraft just announced the ‘Cat Contest’ on their website. Interested players can submit their feline friend from now until November 12. The prize includes winning the opportunity for Pixel Artist Jasper Boestra to literally bring your cat to life in Minecraft. Minecraft’s highly anticipated Super Duper Graphics Pack has been canceled. Mojang confirmed Monday morning that development of the visual upgrade DLC for Minecraft has been ended. The Super Duper pack “proved too technically demanding to implement as planned,” resulting in Mojang canceling development rather than trying to force the issue. The Super Duper Graphics Pack was originally announced for release in fall 2017. Mojang would go on to explain that the decision comes despite a lot of enthusiasm for the Super Duper pack at the studio....
Saturnalia - the striking multi-character survival horror from acclaimed developer Santa Ragione - finally has a release date, and will be inviting PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC players into its ever-shifting labyrinth on 27th October. We’re big fans of Santa Ragione’s previous work, which includes MirrorMoon EP and Fotonica, around these parts, and Saturnalia sounds just as intriguing. It’s a survival horror adventure, of sorts - one heavily influenced by the folklore of Sardinia - that sees players guiding four different characters through a mysterious ancient village steeped in murky rituals....

2K Games has announced basketball sim NBA 2K22 will launch on September 10, and revealed this year’s iteration in the long running series will feature a multitude of cover athlete options. This year’s edition happens to fall on the same year as the 75th anniversary of the NBA, and as such that means there’s a bunch of ways the game will be celebrating that fact. Netflix has detailed a series of new measures to crack down on account sharing, in a desperate move to end the practice used by millions of subscribers who let friends and family log into their accounts. The streaming service will soon designate a “primary location” for your account - your home - and require you watch something while connected to Wi-Fi there “at least once every 31 days”. Any devices not regularly located at your primary location - something Netflix will snoop on via IP addresses and device IDs - risk being blocked from access....
Bringing The Witcher to life for a Netflix series was seemingly quite the challenge, and it could have turned out differently than what fans will eventually see. According to a new interview, Ciri (Freya Allan) was originally the character with the most focus, and even served as a narrator. The game definitely stood out compared to the publisher’s other offerings, as it boasted a distinct art style inspired by the works of renowned film director Akira Kurosawa. Nintendo has partnered with Oscar-winning studio Aardman to bring Shaun the Sheep to Super Mario Maker. From Friday afternoon players will be able to attempt Event Course, Shaun’s Mossy Mole Mischief, which is inspired by Shaun’s home, Mossy Bottom Farm, where Mario encounters mischievous Monty Moles, crazy contraptions and silly secrets. Completing the course will unlock a Shaun the Sheep costume that allows Mario to take on Shaun’s appearance. “Having grown up in a generation of technology that, due to its nature of exposing its inner workings, allowed you to build and adjust your own games – it’s what inspired me and many here in Aardman’s interactive team to do what we do,” commented Daniel Efergan, Digital Group Creative Director at Aardman....
Nintendo is reportedly figuring out what to do with a completed sequel to party game 1-2-Switch that has “tested horribly” among its target audience. According to Fanbyte writer Imran Khan, citing multiple sources familiar with the game’s development, Nintendo made the decision to begin work on a 1-2-Switch sequel - reportedly known as Everybody’s 1-2-Switch - after the the original shifted a respectable 3.45m copies. After several iterations, Nintendo is said to have settled on an idea inspired by the Jackbox Party Pack series for its 1-2-Switch sequel, where multiple players (up to 100 in some cases) could use their smartphones to compete in game-show-like mini-game challenges hosted by a man in a rubber horse mask....
Nintendo Switch production targets have been doubled from eight million to 16 million as a result of stronger than expected demand for the system, people informed on the matter have told the Wall Street Journal. Nintendo believes it can sell 10 million units in the financial year beginning April 1. We recently reported that fans had datamined the Nintendo Entertainment System app for the Nintendo Switch and discovered evidence of Super Nintendo games being added to the Nintendo Switch Online service in the future, along with games from two other unnamed systems. The subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online service received four new games on January 16th (or five new games if you live in Japan), which has added more evidence to the data concerning the yet to be released Super Nintendo games....
