English actress Miranda Richardson has been nominated for seven Baftas and two Oscars. She’s worked with armfuls of top directors including Steven Spielberg, Robert Altman, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg, Mike Newell and Neil Jordan. And she’s probably best known for playing a petulant Queen Elizabeth I in Black-Adder II squealing “where’s my pressie!” (more on her later…). Richardson will soon be seen in Sky original production Curfew, arriving on Sky One on 22nd February....

A quick PSA for those keen to try out some of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer offerings but who don’t fancy splashing their cash on the full game: its free access period begins today. This free access will run until 19th December, and offers three maps and four modes to play through. It would seem that the price point of Modern Warfare 2’s Stimulus Package DLC wasn’t a problem for a large number of players playing the game on Xbox 360. According to a press release from Activision, the DLC sold over 1 million copies in the first 24 hours after its release and reached over 2.5 million by the end of the week. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will generate around $1.1 billion in sales during its first six weeks on sale, Wedbush Securities’ Michael Pachter has predicted. Both in units sold and revenue, Pachter believes Modern Warfare 3 will outclass last year’s record Breaking Black Ops. “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will likely be the year’s top-selling game. If MW3 receives strong review scores (85 or above on Metacritic.com), it should at least match predecessor Black Ops’ sales (over 25 million units) due to the network effect, with compression of sales into 2011 likely,” he stated in an investor note....

Monster Sanctuary looks to be the Pokémon and Monster Hunter of pixel-based adventure RPGs. And it’s coming to Steam Early Access on August 28. In this Metroidvania-inspired platformer, players will collect, hatch, feed, and train their very own team of elite monsters. Currently, players will have access to over 100 different monsters. Each will have various powers that will help players traverse the vast and expanding world. For example, some will be able to cut down vines or other obstacles that may lead to hidden treasure or an alternate route....

The next Mortal Kombat movie was one of many projects this year delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Its release date of January 2021 fell off the schedule after one of its producers, Todd Garner, announced the delay last month. However, yesterday the film’s Twitter account revealed that the Mortal Kombat movie will finally find its time under the sun on April 16, 2021. The movie will release both in theaters and as a stream exclusive for HBO Max....

Mortal Shell, releasing Q3 2020, is coming to the Epic Games Store first as a timed exclusive for about a year. In Q3 2021 the game will arrive on Steam. Priced at $30, the Souls-like action RPG is of smaller size and therefore on the cheaper side as well. A week-long beta will also arrive on July 3. After the fantastic Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet Episode 5: A Dark Quiet Death, Episode 6 had a lot to live up to. Unfortunately, Episode 6: Non-Player Character is easily the weakest episode of the series since Episode 1: Pilot, slipping up when it comes to video game accuracy and failing to deliver anything remotely close to as compelling as A Dark Quiet Death. NBA 2K23 released its first pack of the New Year for the MyTEAM community today, and it’s a special selection that celebrates some historic legends of the game. After revealing all of the new players yesterday on their Twitter page, MyTEAM officially released the pack today at 11AM ET / 4PM GMT.
