Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is only a few weeks away now at this point. It’s been an odd lead-up to the next big expansion to Destiny 2. For starters, well, Bungie just got bought by Sony so that’s a thing. But also, it’s been a cycle where it feels like Bungie has released so many trailers and little bits of information but has actually said so very little. UPDATE: Yamagishi has clarified that the project is not attached to a new Ninja Gaiden video game. “I apologize for any confusion caused by this tweet,” he tweeted last night. “This new project does not relate to a new video game!” While it still isn’t clear what the project is, you should probably expect it to be a new musical project attached to the composer. Psychonauts 2 is still some way from is vague 2018 release date, but it appears the team at Double Fine is starting to get into its development groove, having put together an art test demonstration level called “Quarry Map”. What you have is a fairly linear map which the development team is using as a way to experiment with construction, decoration and rendering, which will ultimately help form the look of the final game....

It looks as if Charlie Brooker’s critically acclaimed techno-thriller anthology series is set to receive its sixth season, according to a recent report. That’s right, Netflix appears to have given the greenlight for more Black Mirror, and it’s allegedly currently in pre-production. The news comes by way of a new report from Variety, which relays word that “While details about specific stories are being kept under lock and key, [….] Season 6 will have more episodes than Season 5....

Today Aquaplus announced that its upcoming Utawarerumono JRPG Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten has been delayed. The game was supposed to release for PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam on September 8, but now fans will have to wait a bit less than two months longer, with the new launch date set for October 20. Localization publisher Shiravune matched the announcement with the same release date, and re-released the previous trailers to reflect it....

The widely reported Joy-Con connectivity issue for Nintendo Switch is not currently creating a “significant” number of support requests, Nintendo has told Time. “The number [of Joy-Con replacement or repair requests received] is not significant, and is consistent with what we’ve seen for any new hardware we have launched,” reads a statement given by Nintendo. The statement followed some comments made by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. “Specifically on Joy-Con syncing, all I can tell you is that we are aware of and have seen some of the reports,” he explained to Time....

Star Fox Zero will now launch in 2016, Nintendo has announced via a social media post from Shigeru Miyamoto. “I made a big decision last week,” begins Miyamoto. “We have been developing Star Fox Zero for Wii U with the aim of releasing it this year. Although we felt that the development had been progressing well, we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes....

I must admit that Octopath Traveler barely crossed my mind in the handful of times that I’ve heard mention of it. The title seemed so odd that my initial reaction was to wonder if it was a sequel to Octodad: Dadliest Catch. Granted, it’s a Nintendo Switch game and I don’t even own that console, so my curiosity was never piqued. Fast forward to the present, though, and everyone’s raving about Octopath Traveler‘s impending arrival on PCs this June....

Oculus Quest is getting a collection of “really big, amazingly deep” titles in the coming year, which may rival the experiences offered by the Oculus Rift (via Upload VR). Speaking to Protocol, Facebook vice president of special gaming initiatives Jason Rubin said that the future of Oculus Quest is bright, though there is a difference between the technical specifications of the headset and other gaming platforms. “It isn’t going to happen anytime soon for a portable device to have PC graphics on-headset for simple physics, battery and heat-dissipation reasons,” stated Rubin....

Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 stats website has revealed that 921,364 people worldwide have played Resident Evil 7 as of January 30. The figure is taken from players who have enabled the in-game data transmission option, meaning it’s difficult to know the actual sales figure. Capcom said last week it had shipped 2.5 million copies worldwide. Of this 921K, 87,329 have played using PS VR, equating to around 9.48 per cent of all players....

Overwatch 2 is on the verge of its full release and aside from being completely F2P it also offers cross-platform compatibility as compared to its predecessor. The new update brings a new game mode, a new character, and a few changes to the existing roster. These changes included Doomfist, who was previously a DPS agent, now having the abilities and HP of a Tank. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PlayStation 4 beta menu revealed Activision’s plans for Supply Boxes to return to the rebooted Modern Warfare, and players are not happy. In an interview with Game Informer, Infinity Ward’s co-design director of multiplayer said that Modern Warfare would take a ‘player-first or player-forward’ approach. ‘It’s something that’s really important to us on the development side,’ he explained. ‘We want, when we release new content, for players to get access to that content and have fun with it, so it’s a huge focus for us....

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak on PC Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak achieves what should be the intention of any expansion: it expands upon the foundations laid down by the base of Monster Hunter Rise, by adding new areas, story content, and most importantly, adding epic new monsters to hunt. But that is only the baseline expectation; where Sunbreak rises up above is in its recontextualization of that original title. The new areas and monsters are fantastic, but what really blew me away was the mix-ups....

Weapons in Monster Hunter Rise have an Affinity stat, which can be positive or negative depending on the weapon. It can seem obvious, such as avoiding equipment with negative Affinity. That’s not the case. Affinity is one of many stats that influence weapon damage, and perhaps a weapon with negative Affinity may do more damage in total than one with positive Affinity, depends on the other stats. It, like so many other topics in MH Rise, may be puzzling due to a lack of explanation....

Capcom has announced that it’ll release Title Update 3 for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin from this Thursday. The latest update for the RPG focused spin-off will include three new monsties to add to your team. These include the Soulseer Mizutsune, the Elderfrost Gammoth and Oroshi Kirin. The update will also add four new quests, with two co-op exploration quests, an Ice Phantom subquest and a special delivery quest....
